Gonna decide yet another natty participant. As it should.
Best rivalry in college football used to be a one-sided affair with Auburn typically relegated to playing spoiler to another Bama championship run.
Now, Auburn has elevated its game and competes for titles every 3-4 years in the toughest division in CFB.
Should be a fantastic game between two fantastic programs from little ole Alabama.

When was this? Specific years.

'72 and '89 come to mind immediately, right?
And it's hard to say much of the seventies (after '71) were anything more than exactly us trying (and failing) to spoil a championship season

You guys buys elite HS players every year. We buy elite transfers every 2-3 years.

If the Barners win, and I think this IB is their’s to lose, they will be in the playoffs. Book it.

If Auburn wins out they're in. No one doubts this.

You could probably say that about nearly any final game for national playoff contenders, but so far, Alabama is the only one of the two "Iron Bowl" participants to play in or even be a contender for the playoffs.

Plenty of people do, particularly a certain fanbase here on the Rant.

An extremely butt hurt type of fanbase. If Auburn wins and gets in, it would mean that their flukey win was absolutely meaningless. Much like their program has become.

True. But that is a pretty small sample size right now. Hopefully we get in this year.
But no matter what, I am really looking forward to a great IB.
Love it when both teams have so much to play for!
SEC West Championship
SECCG shot
Maybe a shot in the playoffs!
What a great Saturday!
