I really hate the position that Auburn football is in.

There's a difference between gimmicky plays and gimmicky offenses. You know this, I know this, so does everyone else. Even our offenses under Gene Stallings, without a doubt the most vanilla offenses Alabama has ever had, included reverses, HB passes, QB draws using a WR, and the like.

So explain how the offense is gimmicky outside of the few gimmick plays

What exactly is so gimmicky about a Wing-T offense that relies on a physical, downhill running game to set up a play-action deep passing attack?
Other than the fact that we run it fast, which isn't "gimmicky."

quote:Gus Malzahn's offense is primarily a power run offense that uses shifts and motions to try to confuse the defense, while also overpowering it. With these shifts, he can later mix in plays to take advantage of the defense over-thinking or keying on certain plays. He sets up everything to try to make the big play later on when it's least expected.

I sure hope he's moved on from using the Wildcat so much, the wrap-around draw, and the usual wide receiver screen passes, though. Mix in more running back screens, slants, etc. We saw these (the ones mentioned that we should move on from to an extent) far too often in 2011, but I blame Chizik for trying to slow things down and make it simplistic. 2009 and 2010 displayed much more explosive offenses.

Seems arbitrary to me where you draw the line.
You're also just assuming a conclusion without support. in other words, you're posting on the rant.
