I’ve explained people really only throw an asterisk on Bama’s 2020 season when they try to place themselves next to the historically great teams of college football that didn’t play their season in a partial season in the middle of a global pandemic. Nobody denies they were the legitimate champ of the 2020 season.
Which is why loser Texag’s thread is stupid as frick regardless bc nobody is calling the 2021 MSU baseball team the greatest of all time.

You are correct. The 2020 football season was not "normal". It was a tougher, more grueling test than any college football champion has ever had to endure. Beating 11 conference opponents in a single season is unprecedented. Not to mention the uncertainty of postponed and last minute rescheduled games. LSU fans like to bring up the * because they think it somehow marginalizes the accomplishment. Actually, the opposite is true.

Crickets? Everyone I've talked to, LSU fan or otherwise, is outraged over what happened to NC State. Nor do I think there is an asterisk by Bama's 2020 championship. Nobody was beating that team.
