Mizzou got robbed
Them cheating Jayhawks kept Mizzou(11-0) from being crowned champs. Only allowed more than a TD 2 times. Destroyed opponents and had they voted after the bowl games and not before, Mizzou would have been champs. Not the bogus ruling of Minnesota and Ole Miss.

assistant coach Merv Johnson was part of that 1960 undefeated season. He’s a legendary figure here in Oklahoma having been part of OU football from 1979-present. Mizzou was coached by Dan Devine which would later win the 1977 national title at Notre Dame with some schmuck named Montana at QB.

Not according to AP and UPI. They both named Minnesota as their national champion for 1960.

Thanks, Captain Obvious. Yes, the polls were always accurate and spot on involving Southern teams, especially in the 1960s.
Ole Miss was the best team in 1960 as was Alabama in 1966.

Mississippi was denied the NC in 1959, 1960, 1962 due to discrimination toward the African-Americans.
1957 Auburn, 1958 LSU, 1961 Alabama weren’t denied.

Minnesota also was a bogus 1960 champion, they lost the Rose bowl 17-7 to Washington.....the real 1960 Champ was Ole Miss or Washington

No offense to Mizzou, but Ole Miss that year was dominant. The team gave up a total of 21 points all year and never gave up more than 7 in any one game. They posted 8 shutouts in 11 games, and almost made that 9 games, but for Billy Cannon's miraculous punt return late in the game. When they gained revenge against LSU in the Sugar Bowl, they beat the #3 team in the nation 21-0.

Mizzou thread; no one cares.
We got robbed thread; no one cares.
You won the lotto by having enough tv's in your state that the SEC did mouth to mouth for you and aggy. How appropriate.

You should be thankful that you’re able to watch your games instead of on some obscure hillbilly network. But, par for the course for southerners.
Don’t bite the hand(s) that feed “ya’ll”.

Okay. Which hand fed us?
You hit the jackpot by just being a state outside of the SEC that had a good market with no good teams.
Care to answer?

I know critical thinking and math skills are severely lacking down there, but ask yourself, do you really think, financially, you would be on par with the Big Ten without us and A&M ?
