At the rate things are going, I think we might actually kick the season off on 9/26.

Inside the SEC's geographic footprint (all 7-day averages):

The Case Positivity Rate is 9.3%.... down from its peak of 15.3% back on July 3rd. This is the lowest the rate has been since June 16th. That is certainly great news.

The number of daily new cases is now 25,030, down 30.3% from the peak a little over 3 weeks ago.

The number of daily new fatalities is now 615.7, down 8.2% from the peak twelve days ago.

With each passing day, the numbers keep improving. It was brilliant for Sankey and the SEC to postpone the season until 9/26. They'll need to make a decision to play or not by 9/1 and I think by then the numbers will have fallen way down from their peak and it will help justify the decision to play.

If cases don't significantly increase within the next two weeks as students return we will have football this fall. 100% guaranteed. I have no idea why those little shits up north and out west didn't wait before making their final decision. Idiots.

Not if you read publications like al.com. Now they are trying to say the data is unreliable. Before the ran article saying how out of control it was based on the numbers. This is a war between the Press/Left and the General Public.

It’s all political. The left has decided to weaponize Covid to get Trump out of office because all of their other attempts didn’t work.

Viruses are like wildfires. Once a wildfire burns through all the vegetation it will die out. The same is happening in the southeast with the virus. It running out of new hosts to infect so it is starting to slowly die out. Things are looking good folks.

This virus follows the same curve everywhere - I think in metro areas it is a little steeper both up and down - and in rural areas it just stays at the peak a little longer and the downside takes a little longer - we are definitely on the downside

Up in Big 10, PAC 12 land, with none of their teams playing on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night, they'll be sure to march, block roads, burn buildings, loot for all of November.

The trend in most of the SE, in terms of hospitalizations and tests, have been going down since around July 22nd or so. They're still finding new cases since everybody and their brother are getting tested.

The worry is that the weenies in the administrative offices of the Universities PANIC once the students return to campus and new cases break out (even if their is little to no detrimental effects to the students).

They’re predominantly liberal nutless soy boys. That’s why.

They cancelled the Rose Bowl Parade 8 months before it was scheduled to happen.

I've been working in Portland Oregon for the last 45 days, heading back to baton rouge now. The entire sub 30 year old population is all hyper liberal, safe space, blanket holding, entitled socialist fart sniffers. They would rather sleep on the streets and protest for reparations than do a single positive thing for this world. It's a damn surprise the PAC-12 didn't cancel their football in March. And the thing is they don't really care about sports. In 45 days driving all around the Portland and Vancouver area I saw maybe 10 Oregon, Oregon st, Washington or Washington St fans. No one gives a frick lol.

Probably because it's supposed to get much worse in the fall.

Yea, I agree. On the other hand, they are the experts, so I'm sure they know more than I do.

Experts and Science all can be on either side.

The scientific community is rarely split on a topic. There will surely be disagreements since the virus is new, but they can still speak with one voice most of the time. A few dubious dissenters doesn't change that.
