Those schools should make up the big 6 based on potential. Everyone knows the reality will likely be something different. Who knows if Texas or Florida will ever get their shite right? What if Okie coach is a flop? They will have a hard time ousting one of their own if their only middling but show some flashes here and there.

Maybe A&M instead of Tex? Even then it's only based on potential vs actual production

Not sure Texas earns that spot over Auburn, frankly.

The "Big 6" is based on SEC titles. No team other than:

LSU
Bama
Georgia
Florida
Auburn
Tennessee

has won an SEC title since the 70's (Kentucky with a shared one iirc). So....as with all the hype for Aggie, Oklahoma and Texas aren't Big anything until they have an SEC title trophy in the case.

I'm not arguing against removing Auburn from the big 6 because I believe they absolutely do not deserve to be in it but to put in Texas is laughable.

So you are the last word on the Big 6? Give me a break. We have won the SEC and the NC, so we are Big 6. And we've done it more recently than two other Big 6 members.

AND we've won the fricking NC since Texas AND Chokelahoma. Either one of them wins the SEC then they get a spot and it becomes Big 7.

Texas has only been marginally better than Tennessee since 2010. I understand including them on the list, and they are a major program with a massive fan base and resources -- but the results are not really there, at least not recently. Maybe NIL will change that since the Texas schools are flush with cash but for some reason don't have the results that usually accompany money and 'program prestige'. I would maybe put Texas on par with Auburn (maybe a bit lower if we are talking Auburn 2013-19) until they can prove that they are legitimately some kind of powerhouse.

Might as well just post “I don’t know what the Big Six is”

It is not subjective

Well, it's not just an arbitrary time frame. No one outside the Big VI has won an outright SEC title since integration.

Bama fans love throwing out football threads when it isn't football season. We know you don't have anything else, but damn. Your time will be here soon.

Post-2025 the Big Six will look like this:

Alabama
LSU
Auburn
Tennessee
Georgia
Florida

No amount of b-league titles gets you a seat at the big boy table. You want to join the club, meet the entrance requirements. Rules are rules.

How many other schools have had all 3 major sports in the Top 10 this year?

Arkansas will be in the Big 6.
