It’s not a job for a pussy. With the resources and facilities the Vols have, the expectations are high. The longer he coaches and gets out from under the NCAA restrictions, the expectations and norise will only get louder and tougher. Winning 10-11 games regurally will keep him safe. But going 8-4 after you have all your recruits, and not under sanctions anymore, won’t get it done.

Fulmer was fired a year after going 10-4 and winning the East in 2007. His last 4 seasons he went 5-6, 9-4, 10-4, and 5-6. And yet those 2 losing season was the only losing seasons in 17 years and that wasn’t good enough at the time.
