Did it bug anyone else the way College Game Day was falling over themselves to pump up the B1G yesterday? The stupid video with Corso reuniting with Bucky? They were already making claims that Ohio state should get in the playoffs - as long as they have a good sample of at least 6 games. Are they serious!?!?!?!

How dare they put Ohio State in after everything the SEC has accomplished this season!

Shut the frick up, bitch boy.

Doesn’t have anything to do with the SEC on the field. The B1G did everything they could to get the whole season canceled. I don’t think they should get any special favors bc their leaders were trying to bully everyone else. Just my opinion.

Already were making excuses for allowing a 6-0 OSU in the Playoff

Oh the irony.
Don’t you have a city to burn with your white friends to prove how un-racist you are?

Sounds like you’re scared of Ohio State.
Or worried that you won’t be able to back in to the playoff after losing 3 games. Hmmm...

I haven’t even mentioned Ohio State and don’t give two solitary shits about them.

So?
Would you argue that a 6-0 LSU shouldn't be considered for the playoff?

The whole fricking point is this wouldn't be an issue with LSU, because LSU is going to play a whole schedule.
If they're going to play two fewer games, they should only get in if they go undefeated and another conference representative loses a minimum of two games.

LSU imo will have no problem doing its part to play 10 games full schedule, because they had early herd immunity to covid relative to most any team in country.

I remain convinced that ESPN wants to be a political channel.
FoxSports has their hands in the Big10 network. ESPN is the parent company of the SEC Network. Yet - ESPN has ran Op Ed after Op Ed bitching, puking, and moaning about the SEC playing football. Somewhere, Max Kellerman cries like a rat eating onions.
And now this. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition - the network that ESPN doesn't make a dime from has content. Yay !!!
Next thing - CBS will start running free promos for the new Rom-Com on NBC. Would make about as much sense.

I mean one of their biggest moneymakers opted back in and you expected them not to say anything about it?

Yes. We want a 2 hr SEC love fest. Maybe a Leach interview every week. How about a trip to a great restaurant or bar in the south because we know they all suck in the frozen tundra in Missouri and points north.

I would expect them - if nothing else - not to constantly complain that the conference they have a financial stake in is going to play football. I would expect them to not necessarily sing Ode To Joy because the conference they don't have a direct contract with suddenly decided to get back into the game.
ESPN has a direct financial incentive in Alabama and LSU playing. Fox has more of an interest in Ohio State taking the field.
No - Ohio State is NOT one of ESPN's biggest money-makers. Ohio State makes money for Fox, through the Big10 network. Hell - Kentucky makes more money for ESPN than Ohio State.

Again, the conference is one of the biggest moneymakers for the station.
It's hard to argue sometimes when it's factual

The Big Ten formally announced its six-year partnership with ESPN and Fox Sports, a deal worth a reported $2.64 billion that industry analysts view as a victory for the conference

No they aren't. They're playing a shortened schedule like everyone else.
So your whole point falls right on its face.

A 6-0 Ohio State would not make the playoff, unless the other conferences absolutely cannibalize themselves. A 9-0 Ohio State easily makes it in - I don’t think there would be any doubt they were one of the 4 best at that point
