The ACC should be adding WVU, Cinci, UConn, and UCF right now

By the time this all shakes out, we will have 2 dominant conferences (B10 and SEC) and two leftover conferences that get the scraps, but are still serviceable enough to sometimes get their champion into an 8 or 16 team playoff (Big 12 for the west and ACC for the East).
The ACC has to know at this point that Notre Dame will never join and that FSU, Clemson, UNC, and Virginia will all be gone for sure by 2036. GT, Miami, VaTech, NC St and Duke are also possibilities for leaving.
By adding UCF, Cinci, UConn, and WVU now, you allow those teams to begin developing into power conference programs in time for the apocalypse, and you have a severely weakened but serviceable conference remaining.
A conference of Syracuse, Boston College, Pitt, Louisville, Wake Forest, UCF, Cincinnati, UConn, and WVU would leave behind enough to salvage in football (basically the old Big East) and still be a great basketball conference. Maybe they get lucky and Duke, NC St, GT, Miami, and/or VaTech get left behind with them.
By letting the Big 12 take/have East Coast teams like WVU, Cinci, and UCF, they are ensuring their demise when the ACC gets raided.
An argument could be made for Memphis instead of UCONN.
This could potentially open the door to convincing ESPN to pitch in more money and renegotiate the terms of the bad deal as well in order to keep the conference stable through 2036.

It's my understanding that adding to the conference then opens up the GOR to more legal scrutiny or outright makes it obsolete. I'm not sure the ACC it willing to challenge that and then possibly let their biggest names walk scot-free instead of milking them for another decade.

Cincinnati, UCF and WVU would prefer remaining in the Big XII. The ACC seems cool right now, but its trajectory is pretty poor while the Big XII seems poised to add at least four decent Pac-12 schools in the next week or so.

I'm not so sure they would. Just because the Big 12 adds a few Pac 12 schools now doesn't mean they actually stay long. Eventually either the SEC or Big Ten are going to want a school in the rapidly growing states of AZ, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, and Utah. If I'm a school that knows it will end up with a seat at one of the two stepchildrens tables regardless, I'd rather at least be at the table on my side of the country playing against rivals. And for as long as Clemson, FSU, Miami, VaTech, UNC etc are stuck in the ACC, that will be by far a better conference than anything the Big 12 can put together.

It could provide some ammo for that, but it is sounding more and more like the big names are going to buy themselves out of that GOR regardless in the coming 5 or so years.

Finally a thread that makes sense. The ACC should add those schools and maybe poach a few more from the Big 12.

Personally I think the bearpussies should go to the MAC to compete at their appropriate level with Toledo Bowling Green and Ohio U

It's dumb that WVU isn't there. ACC can't pull the academics card since adding Louisville.

A pretty valid option. UConn doesn't bring anything to the table due to their poor football program. (yeah, I know) Your other suggestion of Memphis might be better based on some quality football years.

We want to be in the SEC.

I actually felt bad for the Big 12 to have to go slumming with the likes of UCF.

Yea the time for the ACC acting like they are above adding WVU is over. They would be in the top half of the conference in terms of football prestige and fan support right now.

That’s what Florida was saying until they lost.

Where do you get your drugs? Find another source because what you’re doing now caused severe brain damage

Who are you talking about because it’s definitely not ucf

UCF can't even fill their 44K seat stadium and they have an NAIA level university endowment
