It seems to me that a reason for the way some LSU fans are on this board has to do with the relatively unheralded nature of these two championship seasons by college football fans and so-called "experts."

The 2003 national championship team was very solid, but the media seems to forget about it unless they are talking about Nick Saban in the same breath as Bear Bryant. Most pundits seem to really love talking about that '03 Trojans squad more than the '03 Tigers.

In regards to that 2007 national championship team, most members in the media tend to talk about the season itself as no one team really emerged as a dominant force. LSU and Ohio State were chosen to play in the title game simply because they were the last men standing in the aftermath of the carnage.

LSU fans have always struggled with insecurities about their two titles. A title is a title bro, enjoy it.

Like I’ve stated before and will say time and time again, we won the championship. Plain and simple. The same arguments could be made about a few of Alabama’s championships as well (i.e. 2011 and 2017). It’s really no different then when a four or five seed when’s the tournament in March Madness. Though they may not have been the best team throughout the whole season, at the end of the day, they did what they needed to do to be the national champions.

I've always thought the 2007 season should have just had vacated that season for a national champ. That may have been the weakest year ever for college football. I saw the national champs play in person and that was the worst national champion team I've ever seen. There was absolutely zero about that team that said dominant team. They don't finish in the top 10 if the rest of college football is it's normal self.
That may be the last time we ever see a 2 loss team win it all.

2003 I thought LSU was the best team. I believe they would have beaten USC in a tight 10-9 type ballgame. That's the best team I ever saw at LSU. Easily. They could run it, they could hit intermediate passes, they played sound run defense and a ferocious pass rush. One of the best pass rushing teams I ever saw. They would stunt and their D tackles could beat the RBs to the QB even going around the end. Ask Jason White.

Gumps can’t even win their own division to make it to the title game. Embarrassing

Why should they? It's the best 4 teams not some meaningless division banner

My first thought was no one could be that stupid to basically use the same name.

Then I remembered who we were talking about.
