It's real. They actually are rich and entitled. Well, a lot of them are.

It was even moreso the case back in the days before the state fiddled with admissions criteria. Every oil-rich prick and daddy's boy from Dallas who could get into UT did.

I think that's why the Ole Miss fakery is so comical to Arkansas fans. We've actually been around REAL rich, entitled jerks, and we know you're just playing pretend.

All the more reason it'll be hilarious when they're losing to UK and Ole Miss on the reg

I think the introduction of a Ted Dibiasi Million Dollar Man type character is fine. You always need a "Im richer than you and I'm better than you' villain. Sort of the like the Andy Kaufmann wrestling character. The SEC has lacked a legitimate version of this.

It's so weird that others can't see what a treasure trove of future jokes this move is going to be. Texas will show up, lose every year to State or Ole Miss or Missouri, lose every year to most of the big schools AND have to deal with being just another seat at the table at spring meetings.

It'll be maximum entertainment value.

They always talk about how they can buy everything, but they never actually do any of it.

Texas Fans: We can buy any coach we want!

Reality: Hires a bunch of coordinators or 1st time G5 coaches with limited experience for mid level pay.

So kind of like when Nascar started doing it's "Drama" stuff to gloss over the fact they were screwing up the sport everywhere else?

The funny thing is that so many folks here thinks this will hurt A&M the most but that isn't how Texas operates. Texas goes after the weakest ones first and drives the others into submission. The Mississippi schools, Vandy, UK, USC, and Auburn are who they will destroy. They will act friendly with Bama, LSU, and Arky short term as long as they all kiss the ring and comply. Texas doesn't share power and they don't accept anyone as an equal and no SEC school has their resources.

You guys are just used to a conference with lots of smack talk but in the end we all want what is best for the SEC. You assume everyone does because surely no one is powerful enough to take control. Hell you think Bama is powerful. Texas can buy Bama 20x over and still have cash in the bank with 5x the media cover. They are a bright and shiny object but you really don't want them as a business partner because in the end you will lose.

A short list of the Texas body count: Nebraska, Colorado, SMU, Rice, UH and coming soon Baylor, Tech, TCU, OSU, Kansas, KState, and Iowa State.

Oh but we are the SEC and surely they can't do it to us! aggy is just scared! Texas will be LSU's bitch in no time!

At least A&M knows what we are dealing with and we warned you. Be prepared to see the SEC become a very, very different place.

What amazing confidence you have in your school’s leadership.

Again, just wild. I truly did not realize that A&M openly admitted that Texas was the big dog who made all the decisions and was king of the world. I thought those were just jokes.

Again, you guys love to talk about Texas history and all that shite, but you should probably read a book or watch a documentary on the history of the league you joined.

We'll take this whole damn thing down before we let somebody else take it down or take over. We've operated that way as a region for 200+ years.

I know exactly what Texas is and was as happy about leaving them as I was joining the SEC. A&M is an extremely wealthy and powerful school in every way but that doesn't mean I don't understand the threat that Texas poses. We have a $13 Billion Endowment which is the 2nd largest among Public Schools but Texas is $31 Billion. Texas has a massive media organization and network that dwarfs everyone else as well.

You are incredibly naive if you think that just because the SEC has been around a long time and has a great tradition you can stop them or even control them. You can't. The only solution is to cut out the cancer like A&M did.

Remember that just prior to the Big 12 founding Colorado and Nebraska were national powers racking up NC's. How are they doing now? That's the future for the Bama's and LSU's. The rest get to become Tech or Baylor. They may let a couple of schools be their lackey like OU if it is in their interest but eventually they will discard them as well.

It's not that Texas is rich and powerful so much as what they do with that power and wealth. They don't consider anyone an equal partner and they enjoy destroying other programs more than winning.

Counterpoint: A&M dwarfs most of the SEC endowments already

A&M also doesn't run shite in this conference

Seriously, this sort of crippling fear and paranoia is exactly how people described A&M when they joined our league and I truly did not believe them.

All it took was a real threat for Texas to join them and a portion of their group has proven it all correct.

Pretty ironic that this extremely long way to say "Run away! Hide! It's our only chance!" was posted by a guy named "aggressor."

That’s not our lot in life. That’s why we never pushed for championship games or offices to be moved to Texas like they eventually will want. Or demand the league speak out about certain things we personally want. We are a wingman at best, it’s good to know your lane. I am glad A&M is a team player. Texas will be able to hold the new media deal over the SEC and so they will try to make demands to try to lead. It’s their lot in life, they aren’t team players.

The SEC just transformed from a good ole boy conference to being a professional league with egos and spheres of influences. I am happy Aggie melts can distract y’all from that harsh reality at the moment but there is no going back. The SEC being quaint and old fashioned has been nice during our time in it. I am glad we got to experience that for a while.

For sure, this last decade with our ESPN deal and playing for titles with superstars every year was definitely quaint and wholesome and nothing like the Hollywood glitz of the...Big 12?

Buddy I got news for you, we started lamenting the loss of our quaint, old fashioned conference the moment we added you guys and got rid of these guys.
