The statistics/math involved here is sketchy at best

The Cubs are pretty popular too. You guys will always be UT's little brother, and that's why you're always trying way too hard.

There are a few A&M fans in need of a humbling ... a karma kickback if you will. I see one coming. It's gonna be painful for them.

Yeah, A&M has won like one meaningful game in two decades and they're acting like they're fricking Notre Dame or something. (Actually, that makes sense)

Data really doesn't make much sense. Atlanta is the 2nd largest college football TV market with 2,633,000 fans and yet UGA is ranked 22nd with a little over a million fans? B.S.

So, all this proves is A&M fans have to google college football more than any other SEC team?

Bookmarks, brah.

All LSU fans know where to go, we don't need to google COLLEGE FOOTBALL...

You're calling us little brother even though A&M is bigger and older. A&M is the biggest and richest school in the SEC. Calling us little brother doesn't says what about the rest of the league?

The 11th most popular team in the country, according to this list, brought 2,000-3,0000 fans to Athens this year. FCS Georgia Southern almost brought 10,000.

Nate Silver is a joke. His methodology is pretty garbage. He was good in baseball right? Helped win a lot of rings? Oh, wait...

quote:

They’re the two that have taken the most conservative attitude toward expansion over the past decade or two, waiting for programs of the caliber of Penn State, Nebraska and Texas A&M to become interested before increasing their ranks. They’ve been rewarded with extreme loyalty among their fan bases. In a sport where rooting interests are so highly localized, that goes a long way toward explaining their success.

There's a whole lot of butthurt in this thread. I mean gigantic proportions of butthurt. Astronomical even.

Uh, Nate Silver is not a joke. The methodology of this study produces pretty goofy results and probably needs to be refined, but Silver has more than proven his worth as a statistician in the past few months.

And A&M DEFINITELY has little man syndrome. Chill out on the striving for just a day or two, jesus.

All poll averagers got essentially the same result...
