re: Texas A&M (-6) vs Arkansas...why does this feel like a misprint to me?

It's right below the surface. Aggie's feel like they are right there. So close to becoming one of the elite in college football. Some have even told themselves that last year was proof they have made it. The ominous cloud of TX/OU coming in has made those old feelings start to well up in the background.

Order is about to be restored Aggies. You are a middle of the pack program. You just need some old friends to remind you of that.

This is where you lost the plot! The past is not an indictment of the future. Your school is a perfect example. Arkansas used to be a powerhouse in football, then you went to the SEC and that became a memory! Now you are a middle of the pac team.

So to say that we will fall back to “where we belong” is pure wishful thinking. Today we have every resource to compete with ANY other school, including the not so mighty horns and Alabama. Talking about resources here, money!

I’m not going to deny some of the points that have been made on this thread about A&M, we will see what happens and how things evolve in the near future. One thing is for sure, for the first time in A&M’s history, we are committed to doing everything in our power to put our school in the best position to win it all!!
That is all one can ask for, let the chips fall where they may!

We moved to the SEC to compete with the best, not to run away from a challenge!!

I asked if you think there is anything Arky needs to improve on, or if they have been operating on all cylinders.

You can't say with a straight face that A&M has put together a really good game this season.

That's really the question that will be answered Saturday. Have you just been underachieving or is this just an above average team that will be fed through the meat grinder of the west. That goes for both of us. We might both be in that boat.

One of us may be a dominant contender. Difference between the perspectives on this is I haven't seen anything besides preseason expectations that have made me think Aggie is one. I obviously don't think we are.

You haven't been watching our defense then.

A&M has allowed a TOTAL of 17 points and a TOTAL of 232 passing yards. All that has come with an offense that is struggling more than the 1998 offense, which was bottom 30 in every category except rushing.

This is the same for both of us, this will determine who wins, who can prove they have a legit passing game.

I think the key for A&M is offensive line play

A&M defense is really good. A&M offense was always a question mark that could of been somewhat masked through a dual threat qb but that's obviously out the window. I don't think either team is a dominant contender.

After watching the presser both our C and RT are out of practice today so that might be the big issue for both of us.

If that's the case, you are in serious trouble as they both would have had to double-team Leal anyway.

Yep. Defense is good enough to win, and the skill players are good enough to win.

Skill payers wont have the opportunity to do shite if the o-line doesn't improve, and the defense can only hold so long if we're going 3-out every series.

Meh, Clary, while a step down has plenty of reps at center and Jones/Limmer could cover for him at guard pretty well. KJ has some wheels so getting penetration and flushing him out may not work out as well for you as you think it does.

That's just Leal. You also have to deal with Peevy, Jackson and Clemons (who broke 2 ribs of the Colorado QB) as well.
