Missouri fans, what are some of the strengths and weaknesses of your team & what type of game are you expecting in Knoxville on Saturday?

I think it will be a hard fought game that will come down to special teams.

Are we moonshine or meth? Because we like both in TN.

I'll play. If you can get pressure on the QB, you'll when. Thats our biggest weakness, pass protection. Robinson was scrambling the entire game against Bama.
*Ware being cleared to play is also something to watch. If he is out, we'll start two Frosh again at CB.

If you say the first letter of each state alphabetically really fast it’s exactly how I feel inside

We don’t have moonshine so with all of our talents focused on meth that tells you the quality and quantity Missouri is working with. Moonshine makes a better movie but Meth can give immediate superpowers. Should be a good one.

I think it depends which QB we use. If we use Robinson, our run game should be a strength but we will have no ability to stretch the field. With Bazelak we become a much more dangerous passing team but no real threat to run from the QB spot (though Bazelak did run for a TD vs Bama).
Our defense looks ok but can't get 3rd down stops and still gives up a lot of big plays. We can't pressure the QB consistently and we cannot get stops on 3rd and long. If you chuck it deep regularly you will likely pile up the number of big plays.

This is why I think we stick with Robinson more often than CB. Our Oline is good when running the ball, to vulnerable, especially on the left side with pass protection.

We can win using Robinson but everyone needs to catch the damn ball for it to work.

That drop on the opening drive(?) was so pathetic.

That's fair -- thanks for the insight. We did a pretty good job getting pressure on the QB against South Carolina, but Hill also has next to no mobility so who knows for this game. We finished with 9 TFL, 4 sacks, & 3 QB hurries (1 forcing a pick 6). And held their rushing game to 89 yards and 2.5 ypc iirc.
I thought our Front 7 did a pretty good job for the most part outside of our ILB's getting picked on in coverage.
Our starting Nickel/Star, Shawn Shamburger, was out last week and will be out again this week. He's a big loss for us as he graded out as one of the best Nickelback's in the conference last season based off of PFF's metrics. His replacement is a true freshman who got picked on by Shi Smith & Bobo's play calling. If you guys can work the slot WR and middle of the field then you can find some success in the passing game. I think Shi Smith accounted for half of all of Carolina's receiving yards last weekend and a lot of that came from the middle of the field.
Gaurantano's consistency is what worries me the most. At times he'll make a really impressive throw just to make a terrible one on the next play. He had several chances to put that game away last weekend and missed wide open receivers on something like 6 big 3rd down passes that would have extended drives and put us into scoring territory for us to ice the game. but instead he missed high on almost every play and allowed South Carolina to hang around. He's got to get better for us to really make some noise this year, but I think the one thing he's great at is being incredibly consistent at being inconsistent.

It wont be any insight because Drink already said it, and it was BLANTELY obvious, but expect Larry Rountree to get near 20-25 carriers. He was the lone bright spot against Bama on offense, averaging near 5 yards a carry on 14 carries. Only a long of 11 so most carriers were consistent in yardage.

You will have problems with our running game and our defense will disrupt your QB. Our safety play is outstanding.
Our receivers drop balls all over the place, but Bama had Robinson running for his life the entire game as well. I don't think you guys put the same kind of pressure on him. Our ground game will get yards, and if our baws catch the ball this will be a one score game either way.
Should be a good one. I was at the 4 OT game several years back and enjoyed that one. I have been to Neyland 3 times and the Vol fans have been great.

It'll be interesting to see what happens. We held your rushing game to less than 100 yards last year. I believe Roundtree had 16 rushes for 43 yards and Badie for a bit over 30. Our defense is expected to be better this season, but who knows with covid and guys missing so much time. It should be a good match up. You guys seem to like to run east to west quite a bit so we'll have to do a good job of setting the edge.

This is also expected to be our best OL in a long time. Certainly better than last year and Guarantano threw for over 400 yards in the last match-up and we rushed for over 100. I dont think you'll be as disruptive as your comments lead one to believe, but that's why they play the game, right?
That's what makes the Rant fun.

This line was shocking to me when it came out. Missouri obviously couldn't hang with Bama, but I thought they played relatively clean and have some pieces to have a good team. I think Tenn wins, but it will be a good game. Tenn barely beat USCe, and I think Missouri is probably better than the cocks. I got that line at 10 1/2 and felt like it was the easiest pick this week.
Tenn - 27
Missouri - 23
Tenn - 27
Missouri - 23

Strength- Run Game, Accurate QB, Back 7 of defense, Hard Hitting
Weakness- poor QB protection, poor Pass Rush, poor decision making, poor 3rd down defense
This is all vs Alabama
Middle of the road- Run Defense (limiting the big play), we were disciplined penalty wise, play calling, Kicker didn't miss
I am expecting the QB decision making to improve from game 1. I do not expect our OL to make a sudden improvement but I am not sure how good the Tennessee DL is. Our defensive line will not all of sudden getting QB pressure, I do expect us to mix up some blitz packages. Your QB will have time to throw the ball, lucky for us, he isn't accurate at all. Also, Tennessee WR are no where near the level of Alabama's, but they will make some plays.
I think the outcome will be one score one way or the other.
