Bama is better than Tennessee, w or w/o Tua.

Yeah, that 231 total yards of offense should have definitely been enough to win the game.

That's right. They gained exactly 80 yards more than the number of threads started by LSU fans about Bama during the game.

They had a shot, till that sack play where the guy pushed the QB as he got up.

Worse penalty call of the game! That's when I knew the fix was in.

Well the effort by the Vols should get the fans off JP's azz for a little bit.....but they need to beat UAB or his seat will be hot again.

First off -- I really hoped Tennessee could have pulled it off -- it would have been cool to see because those bastards have suffered enough, I think though Bama fans will never think they have. I'm beginning to understand why they feel that way though -- another post for another thread.

Anyways, if you actually watched the game last night from an unbiased point of view, you would have seen that Bama's defense can actually morph a bit. They slowly went from the bend-dont-break mold to actually starting to shut down the run like they have in the past. They turned #24 and #33 loose and then Tennessee stopped getting yards for the most part. Bama's D obviously is not as stout as it was in the past but it doesn't have to be when they can score at will when Tua's in. As such, I see our defense in the same light now because Joe is throwing it all over the place and our running game is pretty damn good considering.

Tennessee had a nice drive and should have put it in the endzone but we got to see exactly why their offense has been sub-sub-par this season. Their QB who started the season who ended up in the game because Mauer was injured was very erratic and did not execute as he was supposed to have. Besides their QB play, I didn't think Tennessee was terrible and they did at least with Tua have a shot to make it a close game.

Also, Alabama proved they can still run the ball to control the clock when they absolutely have to. I suspect this hasn't worked in the recent past because they haven't committed to it like they've historically done and have not worn down defenses.

I find it funny that a lot of fans don't understand the running game from the beginning to the end of the 3rd is mainly meant to wear out a defense rather than only gain yards and move the chains. It's nice when that happens but if you can be effective at getting some yards, keep the defense off-balance and keep ahead on the scoreboard it has a demoralizing effect on a defense. When you have Tua though, you score as often and quickly as you can though it can wear your own defense out.

Anyways, I'm not a conspiracy theorist at heart but I know we bitch about the refs and you gotta admit there are some weird things that happen in a game that make you think something's going on but damn that game thread last night was the worst I think I've ever seen. It wasn't just that some LSU fans who had a tampon up their arse, it was fans of other schools that wanted to see Alabama lose also. It was a disgrace honestly. I will never bitch about refs in a game thread again no matter what I think after witnessing that.

So, Tennessee lost that game because I don't think they expected to be in the situation they were in (where they had a shot to stay even or possibly win) and blew it. To beat Bama when everything is going wrong for them, you still have to be damn near perfect. Tennessee at this point is nowhere being able to have a perfect game. I wouldn't say they suck but they're just not ready mentally to win games like that.

And still held UT to 231 yds, their season low.

Gitmo doesn't have one winning bone in his body and hasn't for 3 years. When Maurer was injured and out the game was over at that point. Gitmo should never see the field again. I'd put Juan Jennings at wildcat every play the rest of the season before Gitmo touches a ball again.

I can't believe Pruitt started him. It's very rare for a HS kid to return after just one week. In TN, HS coaches have no control once they go into the protocol.

Tua wasn't playing that great before he went out anyway. Threw an INT right into Nigel Warriors hands in the endzone.

You forget Tennessee's QB went out too which left us with Jarrett Suckatano who sucked arse as usual.

Worst Vols team I've seen in awhile. And that's saying something.
