Tennessee has weathered the storm of bad coaching hires and has wondered in the wilderness for a while.

Phillip fulmer stepping in is a powerful thing. It shows that all of people wanting a new hot coach were wrong and Fulmer was the man for the job. Now hes going to prove it.

Fulmer is going to provide the consistency needed to curb any worries coaches had about coming to tennessee. He will support him and make sure he has everything needed. Now Phillip will rely on the relationships he has with the coaching community. Tennessee will recover which is a scary thought.

there are quality coaches that wouldn't want to work for Currie that would be more open to talking to Phat Phil

And...? Saban whooped their fricking arse every bit as badly, and if Phat steps back on the field as a coach, he's gonna get humiliated.

And how sublime would it be to see every one of UT's rivals run an absolute train on him.

Phil gives them the best chance of getting a decent coach. If previous reports were true... it'll be interesting to see who he gets

I understand that as a Bammer, the prospect of Phil Fulmer at the helm of Tennessee athletics makes you want to punch your sisterwife in the face, but I'm going to need you to kindly shut the frick up and calm the frick down.

I think you missed the press conference, he squashed that possibility when someone asked him if he would assume an interim coaching role.

Well? Fulmer’s AD, of course he won’t be stepping back on the field. He’ll be hiring the coach who will be. And he knows coaching ability when he sees it.

So he will not be availing himself of a search firm? Isn’t that one of the excuses used to fire Currie?
