Suggestions on restaurants for Friday night please? Casual not fine dinning. Like the market square area

See that Knox has a lot of brewies. Any opinions on the best one to visit? Love IPAs

Any other suggestions?

On Market Square, there are three: Not Watsons. Named for the Watson's Department Store that filled the space for decades. Mixed menu, reasonable prices.

Soccer Taco: (my go to Mexican restaurant-very fresh ingredients, well seasoned, reasonable) and their bar downstairs.

The Stock and Barrel. Great hamburgers, great fries, duck fat fried potatoes as well except they are addictive. The hamburgers are locally sourced and are from farmer friends of mine who know how to finish beef. Also a great Bourbon menu.

Tupelo Honey- good food in a (now) chain restaurant.

Store: on Gay Street: Mast General Store an important resource for clothes and all sorts of basic things in this part of the country.

East Tennessee Historical Society-

Blount Mansion (at the end of Gay street) home of the governor of the Southwest Territory. Classic wooden house that's several hundred years old.

From reading the thread about what restaurants you miss from your childhood, y'all need to know that Shoney's area alive and well in Knoxville.
The breakfast bars are just as you remember. So's the Strawberry Pie.

I can think of three that are in the same location they were thirty years ago: Rutledge Pike, north Broadway, and Kingston Pike. There are others, but in different locations. Those three have the 'we are a restaurant loved by our long time local customers' feel and dependability.
