This team is obviously really good. My question to Vol fans..what is this teams peak? Are they a serious title contender? What are the strengths and weaknesses?

Also, When was the last time Tennessee made it to Omaha? You guys are looking like a national seed.

I was cautiously optimistic about how good this team is. Beating Georgia, LSU, and Alabama doesn’t mean too much. I feel a little better after taking 2/3 from Florida but we’ll find out this weekend. I just want us to be competitive this weekend with a chance to win the series.

They could be better batting wise if guys like Max Ferguson, Luc Lipcius and Jordan Beck start hitting better. As a team, they are still leaving too many people on base. They do grind out at bats, wear the other pitcher down and then capitalize.

Pitching wise, Tennessee is down their #1 pitcher due to a season ending injury after the Ga State series. If they still had him, I'd say they'd be a real threat.

Tennessee has won a lot of close games in the SEC so far. That could always swing the other way the last half of the season.

I think it's possible they go to the CWS. Everything after that is gravy.

Looking forward to our series.

I’m still not convinced Arkansas isn’t fools gold solely because of pitching. We have decent depth but no great pitchers like in past teams.

They do all the little things that will make a difference in a tight ballgame. They get on base really well and play with a lot of confidence when they are down and keep on plugging away. Vitello has done a great job and they play together as a team really well. As a fan you really have to admire a team like them because they are mentally tough.

Their lead off hitter is the only one with eye popping stats and he will be on base all day long. The rest of the production can come from anywhere. They all take turns producing.

Vitello is young and very engaged. He has them in a good place.

Weakness: CLUTCH HITTING.

The guys are always on base and often in scoring position with 1 or no outs and just don’t blow an inning open. Instead of 3-6 runs they will get 1 or 2 at best. It’s so frustrating to see. With a little clutch hitting this team could be special.

They have been good enough to beat decent teams but haven’t really faced great pitching yet. So that scoring runs when you can instead of when you need to hasn’t been an issue yet. It becomes an issue this weekend vs Vandy.

As far as peaking? Getting to Omaha but not winning is where I would put them. I liked the hitting and pitching better last year honestly.

Last year’s team was much more talented.

This year’s team gets by on grit and belief more than talent.

With Crochet, Leath, Soularie, Daniels, etc. I think last year’s team was legitimately one of the 8-10 most talented teams in the country.

I think they make it but don’t see them winning.

Usually a team has to knock on the door for years before winning it sans Coastal Carolina in 2016.

But if Arkansas doesn’t win it I’m fine with any other SEC team winning it. Even LSU. Maybe.

Why are y'all putting the jinx on Tennessee like this. It is not easy to make it to the CWS.

Solid analysis.
