So your athletic department was broke and needed a loan from the University?

No, this is code talk for complete bullshite. A rich as hell alum did this so they will not have to disclose what they are paying their coach. The University will pay the money it just will not have to go on record.

at least tuberville somewhat deserved a buyout... what AD decided to give Shula a raise and extension when no one was offering him a job?...
quote:
Auburn paid Tuberville over $5M...half within 30 days of his departure and the other half within six months. Two lump sums...also no mitigation. If anyone at Auburn had two brain cells to rub together at the time Tuberville's contract was written, his Texas Tech salary would have mitigated a nice chunk of it.

Hell, UK paid a drunk $3 million after they fired him because Mitch Barnhart was too much of a pussy to force him to actually sign a contract. He let Billy Gillispie coach 2 years under a memorandum of understanding.

Reinvested funds?
Shouldn't it say funds kept away from the University???

Pitiful that UT's AD isn't profitable on it's own with all of the ticket revenue they generate.
UT's a sinking ship, an ironside in an era of cigarette boats.

This isn't money that the university is giving to the Athletic Department- It's the yearly donation that the AD typically gives the university and is electing not to for 3 years.
This. UT AD typically gives more to the University side than any other SEC school. They just aren't doing that for the next three years.
