So says this writer. Imagine that. LINK

Beginning with the MOST overrated........

1 - Michigan Stadium, University of Michigan

Yeah we said it. Michigan consistently has the largest crowds in the nation each and every year. So why is Michigan Stadium No. 1 on this list? Well, the stadium doesn't really pack the punch fans think it does. It's not loud - or intimidating.

2 - Rose Bowl

Disclaimer: this is speaking of UCLA's home games -- not the Rose Bowl Game.

Let's clarify this one. The Rose Bowl - the actual bowl game - provides one of the greatest settings that exists in sports. However, when the Bruins are playing a home game in front of a half-empty Rose Bowl it presents something very different - and very embarrassing.

3 - NEYLAND STADIUM, University of Tennessee

Here come the Volun-tears. Tennessee fans are the best in the country at times, but also the worst. When the team is underperforming they're quick to hit the exits, leaving the stadium as a hundred million dollar echo chamber.

4 - BRYANT-DENNY STADIUM, University of Alabama

Nick Saban has criticized Alabama's fans enough times for everyone to understand why Bryant Denny Stadium is on the list. Crimson Tide fans are nearly on the level of Tennessee fans when it comes to quitting on their teams during a loss - which doesn't happen too often in the Saban era.

5 - Notre Dame Stadium, University of Notre Dame

Much like the uniform - and sometimes the play on the field - Notre Dame's stadium can be summed up in one word: plain. It's fine, but when attending a legendary college football program's game, "fine" just isn't going to cut it.

This is among the dumbest things I’ve ever read. How many losses have we had at home, and how many of those were by more than one possession? Does he think we file out in a one possession game or something?

The Rose Bowl is arguably the greatest venue in all of college football. It’s absolutely stunning and electric when big games are played there. And the writer is also correct of how pathetic UCLA’s showing is.

This looks suspiciously like the Big Game Boomer model of purposefully railing against certain programs simply to elicit a response.

Where does this author get his information?

Bama and Tennessee have always sold out games, even when they sucked.

I dont understand what his criticism is. Is his criticism that Bama fans in the stadium "quitting on their teams during a loss"? I mean we lost one game at home in the last three seasons and the stadium was packed till the end.

He's got this completely backwards. Alabama has lost three games in Bryant-Denny in the last 11 seasons (2012 Texas A&M, 2015 Ole Miss, and 2019 LSU). The problem is Alabama fans quitting on their team during a win.

Not an indictment on OP, but who comes up with these lists?

Neyland paved the way for the sec to start a 100k arms war. We proliferated after construction. The double bowl is great and keeps noise in.

And to say that Bryant Denny is subpar is silly. I will say this as an LSU fan, we have half full stadiums after 3rd quarter as well.

Lagniappe: When is notre dame going to revert back to their classic gold uni? The green-gold helm and britches is hard to look at.

No, it's not. As flat and round as that bowl is, there's not a good seat in the stadium. It has history and nice views but is not a good venue for watching football.

Mostly because BAMA is beating the hell out of some directional school. They don't want to do better with the schedule, so you get what you get.

Attendance in the SEC and college football is more of an issue in filling stadiums up these days. People aren't traveling to games as much with tech ruling the day.

I'm calling BS on Notre Dame as well.

Yes, the media is insufferable when it comes to the Irish, but the stadium is on campus, the campus is amazing, TD Jesus overlooks one endzone, and on and on.

It's an exceptional environment for a college football Saturday.

This is one stupid list, like most of the others.

Going to the Rose Bowl and Notre Dame stadiums, those are two great places to see football. They are just good ole football stadiums without all the frills. I got chills walking into both. When my eyes first cleared that tunnel and I saw the inside of the stadiums, wow.

Now, you want an overrated place to watch a game, do the MB Dome in Atlanta. The sightlines are terrible, the bells and whistles are over the top and they spent more on bars that making it a good sports venue.

If you are a 22 year old hack, like this guy probably, who is in the I don't care about history and anything that happened before I was born doesn't matter, then you probably agree with this horseshite.

8 home losses in 16 seasons and 3 of those were in 2007. If anything it’s being spoiled that leads to a lesser atmosphere.

I agree. He's from Pennsylvania and lives in the New York City area -- he's a YANKEE!!! What does he know, right?

I've been to all five of the stadiums listed and only one would I have on this list -- Michigan. It's big, but it's definitely overrated. Alabama & Tennessee don't deserve to be listed here.

How dumb.

Before the Saban era we would never leave a game. Now, we only leave games we are destroying people. Saban has created such an expectation of wins that we have gained some spoiled college kids that just leave when it's boring. Bama makes boring games b/c of their brutality.

So this guy is stupid b/c, at home, we really don't lose games. What sample size was he even talking about?

*edit*

ALSO... in the very very few games we may have lost at home, i guarantee you they were barn burners. No fans would have left for that.

Click-bait. Call out the biggest fan bases in college football with no reasoning at all. There’s no point to the “article” other than getting clicks.
