But at least in that season they lost to two quality opponents to start the year. They lost to a Top 15 Georgia team in game one before losing to a Steve Spurrier-coached Duke team in week two.
Tennessee showed improvement from week one to week two last night but they still choked away a sure fire win against a team they were superior to. The Vols will likely start the season 1-6 and have a very real chance at going either 2-10 or 1-11 if something doesn't change quickly.

God bless the Vols. But for them we'd be the full recipient of the scorn of the SEC.

Kinda hard to pick on the Vols at this point. It’s kinda like going to the Special Olympics and talking shite.

The last time Tennessee only won a game was 1909. They won 3 in 1919. Very likely they end up between the two.
