Tenn is the 10th most attractive job in the conference RIGHT NOW, imo

If I am a head coach looking to get paid 4+ million, create some continuity and security with my job, and possibly look to move on to another school after 5+ years of success Tenn falls pretty far down my list.
The other big 5 schools are no brainers. Tenn isn't even in the same category as them anymore.
Then you got State, Mullen got paid 40 million plus and parlayed it into a Florida Job that he wanted. Who was Tenn coach when Mullen was hired in '08? Derek Dooley? Taking State over Tenn job any day of the week. Great leadership that supports and gives space and time to head coaches, without too much pressure barring a losing season.
Then A&M, even though they have a dumpster fire of their own, I'd take the A&M job over Tenn any day of the freaking week and probably for 10% less than what Tenn would offer. Better facilities, stadium, state, recruiting base. It's a no brainer.
I would take Ark over Tenn right now as well. just based solely on the fact that Tenn is a dumpster fire and it is more than possible to win at Arkansas with the right players and scheme.
I would take South Carolina over Tenn right now because of the same reasons as Arkansas
You could almost talk me into taking the Kentucky job over the Tenn job right now, no where near the pressure, and a decent amount of sustained success could lead to a better job eventually, all while getting paid 4 mil plus. Gonna have to give Tenn the slight edge here, but it is close.
I'll go:
1. bama
2. LSU
3. UF
4. UGA
5. Auburn
6. A&M
7. MSU
8. Arkansas
9. USC
10. Tennessee
11. Kentucky
12. Mizzou
13. Vandy
14. Ole Miss

LSU at 2?? Seriously?
A year after getting rejected by UH coach. Ok

It matters not who's at 2, it's who's at 10

Ranking 1 to 14 is very subjective, and what is a better job for some isnt for others depending on their coaching background, where they are from, etc. The correct way is to view it by tiers.

I said imo. 2-5 was a crap shoot honestly, definitely switched them around multiple times. The selling point for me was the fact that Louisiana puts out the most 4 & 5 stars for a State with one P5 school.
I think if you went in there with a Ohio State/Urban Meyer style Offense they would be a a lot more successful. If your gonna try to out bama mama, you actually have to do it, otherwise you are just a. lesser version of another team in your division who owns your arse.
I could make a case for honestly Auburn, LSU, UF, UGA, and A&M at number two.
Then I see it as state in a tier of their own, hard to argue there, remember this is looking at it as if you were a candidate for each job, not a fan.
Then Arkansas a tier below state.
Then USC and Tenn in the next tier
Then Kentucky in a tier of its own.
Then MIzzou
Then Vandy and Ole Miss

Lol, just did that. the tiers get a little tricky around 9-12

Lulz, Kentucky is a very attractive job right now after what Stoops has established with the new facilities and the pipeline in Ohio.

I have a different take on TN. I think it really can't get any worse (it probably will tho ) so anyone that takes the job and returns them to decency, not Top 10 in the country, will be viewed as a success.

Aggie isn't 1st tier

LSU hires the d-line coach of the coach they fired and they are the 2nd best job in the SEC??

incorrect. Tennessee fans still view themselves as a top 10 program and expect 9-10 wins per season. any less than that and you are looking at a butch situation, who was basically backed against a wall this season with a knife to his throat, only way out is a SEC East championship.
It's that kind of pressure that makes the job in the same convo as a Kentucky. You get fired from TN and your career is over, and damn has it been easy to get fired from there lately.
In short. Tenn fans are still delusional as hell and haven't accepted their new reality, which is only making it worse and worse year by year until they may just find themselves in the bottom 4 permanently, with a chance every few years to make some noise. Bad leadership kills everything.

A few months ago I would agree with you BUT today I'm not sure. TN fans know what the bottom looks like.

I agree that that job is a lot better than it was 5 years ago, and I gave them credit saying I could almost put them ahead of TN, but honestly I just don't see who I could move KY in front of.
State has been #1 in the nation in recent years, gone to an orange Bowl, beaten LSU and Auburn type schools on an almost every other year basis in the past 4-5 years. They have been ranked in the CFP more weeks than not. Had a coach leave a job due to success, not failure. That's a very attractive piece of the puzzle and one KY may need to take a few steps up the ladder.
If Kentucky could accomplish the same in the next 3-4 years the could see a big jump as well right up there behind the big 5 + A&M and State

Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.
Check the athletic budget, perennial top 2-3 in the COUNTRY.
Got Texas to recruit and Louisiana right there to poach.
Got top 5 facilities in the country
Got top 5 stadium in there country
Got a passionate, large fan base.
I could argue that they are top tier in the country if not for the way that the Sumlin era went, although I think that was more on Sumlin than the program and it's leaders. A lot of people don't like the guy. He still had more than enough opportunities to just get that 9-10 win regular season and secure his job for another year or two at the least without too much heat, but he couldn't do it. shite, he lost to MSU 3 of the last 4 years. He had his chances, it just didn't work, and sometimes it doesn't work with certain people at certain places. It wasn't too long ago when Bama had a head coach named Shula and lost to a Sylvester Croom led MSU team that lost to Maine.
I'm not the biggest Aggie fan, but if you can't agree that they are an absolute sleeping giant then you are kidding yourself.
IF they get Jimbo, look out Bama.

Well y'all hired a coordinator? Dude like I said it was my imo and 2-6 might as well be one tier. I picked LSU due to their recruiting base and the fact that they don't have to compete with an in state school whatsoever. Do you want me to say UGA is #2? would that make you feel better??
I would rather be handed the keys to LSU than UGA, simple as that. More recent success, and Saban has got to retire or die kinda soonish.
the point was not 2-7, its how far Tenn has fallen. They are a cellar dweller and scare me about as much as a 5 year old girl.
I do think, IN MY OPINION, that LSU and UF are just a slight notch above UGA. Then UGA slightly above Auburn and A&M. Ask me again next year and it's prob different

what kind of pipeline is left in Ohio for KY after Ohio State, Michigan, Saban, among many others take their pick of the litter?
