Same thing was said when Sark was hired after being fired by the Falcons. The board was having a good time with that hire.

Look at thread below. The Gumps get very angry when you point out facts. They are breaking down about this hire.

Notre Dame regressed in points per game, yards per game, passing yards, touchdowns, first downs - basically every major offensive stat - when Brian Kelly left

In other words, Tom Reeses is a steaming bag of donkey shite when Brian Kelly isn’t there to hold his hand.

Check the numbers

It’s certainly an underwhelming hire.

Sarks resume was head and shoulders above Rees. Kiffin too. Let’s be honest here.

O’Brien had been a successful head coach at Penn State. Notre Dame fans were calling for Rees’ job THIS season.

It goes beyond that. #60 against teams like Marshall, Stanford, BYU, and Cal. Only scored 14 points against a 3-9 Stanford team that beat Notre Damn.

Notre Damn offense last year under Reece!

Points pre Game/ #31 in NCAA @ 31.8
Yards per Game/ #52 in NCAA @396.2
Redzone Scoring/ #42 in NCAA @86%
Pass Play % 40.29% (#118 NCAA)
Completion % 62.43% (#47 NCAA)
Yards/Pass 8.0 (#34 NCAA)
Passes/Game 26.0 (#117 NCAA)
Passes/Game 30.4 (#48 NCAA)
Pass Yards/Game 207.2 (#92 NCAA)

And breaking in a new QB? This could be entertaining lol

O’Brien too. Rees is an underwhelming hire. Who knows though. He will certainly have more talent than ND. They’re pretty much second tier despite their leather helmet glory days.

Compare the talent levels now.

Notre Dame has had top 10 classes 3 of the last 4 years. They have talent no matter how you try to slice it. Yes Bama has more talent, but they also play a harder schedule than Notre Damn. Reece will find out that Marshall, Standford, Cal, UNLV, Navy, BYU, and Boston College are no longer on the schedule. Bama will wish they had Bob back.

Do you think their recruiting was 60th best on offense the last three to four years?
