One of our posters has indicated he has a non-traditional parental situation. He didn't elaborate beyond that. Regardless, I agree. His parents/guardians have failed miserably both prior to & after the wreck.

He's not 18 and while I do understand there are some situations where a teen being able to drive critically helps out the household there's no way in hell they should've let him drive, especially after ticket number 2. He's a danger to the general public and himself and even the blindest parent/guardian can see that.

He'll probably say he has "affluenza". See Ethan Couch of Texas.

Tbh, I’m glad. After killing two people and still speeding around and several more incidents with the law, well, that tells me he didn’t give a damn. And shame on his parents. To allow him keys to a car after showing he was still doing the same crap - they are as much slime to me as he is.

Parents should now be considered as part of the problem. Why did they allow him to continue driving?

Judges/juvenile 'court systems' need to be held fully accountable when they 'allow' such occurances ! sadly, the 'justice system' seldom lives up to it's responsibilities !
WHO the judge was needs to be fully exposed by the media...if the locals won't do their job, then state/national media should ACT !!

I’ve got one turning 16 next week. He gets so much as a ticket and he won’t be driving again for a while.

We recently had a similar incident in Missouri. A 16 year old in a pickup hit a Mennonite buggy killing most of a young family.

It was on a straight stretch, daylight and he never slowed.

Had that face buried in his phone.

Good for you! I was lucky growing up and had great parents. They were great but there were indeed consequences if we screwed up. I am the same way now. Glad to know there are still parents out there who do it right.

Welp, maybe the pocketbook hit his "non-traditional" parents are about to receive, will deter non-traditional parents from trying to be "parents" in the future.

Yep. I got in a fender bender when I was 16 and that ended my driving privileges for at least 6 months

When my father was hit and killed by a drunk 18 year old in 2002, the courts decided to grant youthful offender status.

We fought it all the way, but weren't able to keep it from happening.

BTW, in our situation, the youth was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee and hit my Dad's Buick squarely across the rear. He was actually able to restart the Jeep and attempt to flee before being apprehended.

Just a drunk kid passing through on his way from Kentucky to PCB. 6 months in 'Boot Camp' and a clean record when he got out. Even the newspaper articles posted on the internet that once mentioned his name have been scrubbed clean.

The Bramblett's notoriety and changing times may keep that from happening.
Hope they rest peacefully.

Or any sense of justice for that matter.

He killed two people and his guilt is irrefutable.

In a just world he would already be in the ground with them.
