I believe Les was secretly an Arkansas fan. It's the only explanation.

I think I remember telling Hog fans that Bert's offense would never work in the SEC at a place like Arkansas. A pro style, smash mouth offense takes talent to work and if your recruiting sucks you won't be able to beat anyone of consequence. Arkansas has never been able to recruit at the level required for the pro style to work.

Ok. He actually was successful on Offense. In fact, pretty sure Brandon Allen’s Sr year was the #1 Offense in the league. Bert didn’t know how to field an average Sec defense.

Offense was never the problem but ok.

I seem to remember Bert's offense hanging 40 on Bama. Too bad we never had a defense.
