B.S, Tate hasn't been around long enough to consolidate much power. He's a few months in. He may think he has a say but Woodward and the B.O.S will decide.
A diversity candidate would be fine if he's the best fit, but if there is a proven big name option, Tate is going to get a lesson about how Louisiana works.

The only thing that gives me hope about this hire is that the boosters are ultimately the ones who scratch the checks.
Tate’s desire to hire a minority candidate is real. Which is fine, but he’s severely limiting the pool of candidates by making that his top criteria—and make no mistake, that’s his only criteria.

When Woodward took the LSU job it was based on him having
final say on coaching hires or he would`t have come.He
was hired way before Tate so he has the say.There was no
way he leaves A&M so quickly if that wasn`t the case.He
might go minority but it WILL be his decision.SW want to
leave his mark on LSU football ,thats why he too the job.

that's silly and not cool imo but Tate is certainly involved and would, of course, have the final vote.
