I’d rather follow a baseball thread for a game that isn’t on TV than watch Mississippi State play basketball tbh.

What was that last call? They fouled him and now TAMU has the ball?

Same here. Even the radio stations carried the baseball game tonight.

A&M has not played a game in like 2 full moon cycles and they beat us.

I mean , yes we won the game, but we were pitiful in doing so. FT shooting was awful. We had four times more TO’s than they did. 16-4.

Just hard to understand this team. So wildly inconsistent to say the very least.

Miss State is a blind date. You never know what you’re gonna get......except Ben Howland is probably gone after this season.

ETA: Oh , and I was one of those that said getting rid of Stansbury was a big mistake. What have we done since? Absolutely nothing.

agreed.... Stans might have been a bit slimy, but you have to be in the SEC unless you have a major IT factor...

I supported Stans all the way until the collapse in the second half of his final season. We went from 19-4 mid season to not making the NCAA tournament.

At that point he had not earned an NCAA bid with his regular season record in 7 years. Did get one bid during that time with an SEC Tournament win, but we would not have made the NCAAs without winning the SEC tourney.

Losses to bad non-conference teams kept us out of the tournament several years.

Stansbury was not slimy, he did more with less. He knows basketball and we drew some bad draws in the Ncaa’s. But he knows basketball and won an out right Sec championship, some Sec tourney’s and division titles.

Lol @ an OM basketball coach “bending” the rules. Murphey, Evans, Barnes, etc aren’t rules benders. Rumor was, RIP, Lorenzen Wright could have been bought but OM did not play the game. They would have been bad anyways bit early but with Boone and Sesay they could have developed.

Dude, please. What has been going on at Ole Miss and was going on was your bag men. Everyone in this state knew it was going on and thankfully for you the Ncaa only came up with evidence against your womens basketball team and eventually your Football team.

Stans should have been fired as soon as Sidney punched a team captain and it was the team captain that left the team.

He, like Jackie, stuck around too long.

Actually, I can’t argue that. But Stans went out on a limb to sign some (talent that were 50/50 trouble) and paid the price. I think he thought he could mold them but sometimes you just can’t.

My apologies for the accidental downvote. I’d upvote your message a hundred times if I could. Stans lost complete control of the team for putting his neck on the line for the biggest cancer I’ve ever seen (Sidney), and the team lost all respect for him for it. Good coach, of course, but he had to go. That shite show in Hawaii was something he couldn’t recover from.

Talented but young. Other than Ado we are all freshman and sophomores.

If we keep everyone except senior Ado I think next year we are very good. Need to get our offense worked out
