Seems a waste to fly, but you never know anymore?

I've heard that the NC has been really strict about protocol being equal for all schools. I wouldn't be surprised if Georgia flew as well.

I do believe they always fly to games in the ATL. Not sure what the break point is on mileage/time.

Drive for uga with police escort is no more than an hour. Would literally take longer to fly and then bus from airport

AU is a little over an hour from Atlanta by bus. I believe AU took a 747 out to California last time. Bama saved about an hour by flying to Atl then busing to the hotel.
30 mins to load and taxi for takeoff
Hour flight
30 mins to the gate and deplaning.
30 mins bus ride to hotel.

Bus from UA campus to ATL hotel is about 3+ hours.

Flight =

Bus from campus to TCL airport: 10 minutes.
Get on plane: 10 minutes
Flight from TCL to ATL: 43 minutes
Deplane: 10 minutes
Special bus from ATL to hotel: 20 minutes w/ escort
Total time: 1 hour 30 minutes

Boy, your times about how airlines work is a little off. You obviously know nothing about aircraft run-ups, ATC Clearences, taxi and parking time at Hartsfield.

As you can see by some previous posts from the ATL, it is not like the team had to wait to taxi to the "C" concourse, as you would do on a typical Delta commercial flight. I'm sure they landed on a given runway, and were fairly quickly directed to a designated unloading portion of the airport tarmac and buses were probably waiting fairly close by.

The were not given an priority over other traffic. Most of the time Commercial flights are cleared over Charter flights due to on time grading. The GA FBO is located on the other side of the Airport in ATL, so it would have probably been easier to go to Concourse C, depending on Landing direction.

Tuscer has an airport big enough for a passenger plane that could hold a football team??

Why sure. With nearly a 6500 ft runway

Same length as Chicago's Midway runway length.
