Here are the perennial 9 games that are gifted to SEC fans every year. Of course it's not a mistake that they are perfectly spaced out by CBS/ESPN.

9-21
UF @ UT

10-5
UGA @ UT

10-12
UF @ LSU

10-19
UT @ ALA

10-26
AU @ LSU

11-2
UF vs UGA @ Jacksonville

11-9
LSU @ ALA

11-16
UGA @ AU

11-30
ALA @ AU

It’s no mystery, these are the headliner games each week. You can bank on them being watched.

The Big 6 is easily what made the SEC what it is today, and they forced our best 6 to play each other, every year. They could have rotated out the cross-div games, but they didn't. And that was a huge move in 1992.

AU-UGA is a ridiculously great series.
LSU-UF is just as entertaining.

So for now, there should be no debate of eliminating the big three cross divisional games. They are, in fact, too important. And the other 8 benefit financially from them as well. It's a win-win.

Also, the talk of moving AU to the east probably will continue. But the balance will always move back and forth

*****this is not a Tennessee dis thread. I debated even bringing that up. Tennessee's tradition and history are too much to be ignored. Their fanbase and Athletic Dept will keep them in popularity as you can easily see with the SEC Scheduling.

So it provides us a Tennessee team that is 1-25 in their last meetings vs Alabama and Florida?

To be honest this is what the other leagues miss out on. The PAC scheduling is horrible. Their commissioner should be removed post haste and look at a complete revamp to create a high end game every week. The only other league that comes close is the B1G. Perhaps with Urban out of OSU some of their rivalries will be more competitive. Unfortunately how the B1G sliced up the divisions they put the blue bloods all in one division. The ACC has always been a 1 or 2 team league and would benefit from adding ND as a full time member. The Big12 schedule is interesting because everyone plays everyone and they have nice spacing but it is just a two team league

The SEC could still make the big 6 rivalries work with a 3-4 team pod schedule but would have to get the NCAA round robin division rule amended. Honestly the pod schedule format would provide a more enticing set of second and third tier media rights game every year than the current format.

Acc needs to add ND and Wvu if we are going to end up with four 16-team leagues. Then they need to form an acc-north and acc-south.

I still can’t tell who’s in what division.

Watching UT means as much to me as watching Missouri or Vanderbilt.

It provides you that. And it’s fair to say.

But men over 35 years old still dislike Tennessee. And if the tv market still consists of a lot of them, then they will find a week to show case their games with

UF
Uga
Ala

And they do. Take a look. It’s no mistake that these three games do t happen during the au vs LSU or Uga vs au games.

Everybody dislikes Tennessee football. Even most Tennessee fans dislike Tennessee football.

Since John Ward retired, there's virtually nothing likable about Tennessee football.

The new Big 6 is A&M, Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee.

Honestly, Florida and A&M should be cross division rivals.

K

So “dumb” in fact, that the sec makes sure they don’t schedule two of the big 6 perennial games in the same weekend.

Get what you are saying, but as much has Tennessee has struggled the last 20 years, it is telling that the rest of the Big 6 is just now catching up to them in SEC Championships, wins, etc. That tells you just how good they were for so many years.

Yes, they need to return to their "glory days", but they were good for a very, very long time.

I'm quite sure the SEC offices don't have a clue what the hell "Big 6" is.

Correlation doesn't equal causation.

So tired of hearing the ACC is a 1-2 team league when the SEC has pretty much featured Alabama and perhaps UGA as their showcase teams for quite a while. Pretty much all conferences are 1-2 teams at the top with the rest plugging the holes behind them.
SEC is certainly the deepest top to bottom but ACC has (until last season) produced 5-7 top 20 teams (CU, FL St, VT, Miami, NCSt, Pitt, GT have all had recent runs). Hell UVA shutout SCar last I checked.
