Why is there a ceiling for UK? The major college football world has changed dramatically and we’re lucky enough to be in the big boy conference. Also, and this is vital to our program, UK’s administration has finally recognized that football pays the bills and even donates heavily to academics.
Investment in football is now seen as a worthy move and is paying huge dividends. I doubt we’ll ever see basketball take anything away from our football program now. I wish Coach Bryant could see it.

This is actually the second time Stoops has started 4–0. He's also started 5–1 twice and 4–1 another time.

Nobody but Kentucky would give him this long to build a program. The teams that he would consider would look at his overall record and say no. Plus he would be a fool to go to that type of situation. He is writing his own story at Kentucky
Iowa is who I worry about. His alma mater and they've stuck with Ferentz and may do the same with him.
But we've got too much money, too good a location for his real home (Ohio) for recruiting, and this conference. A fan base who isn't going to run him for winning 8-9 games a year. An athletic director who's giving him the stuff he needs.
He and Vince are the same. They've had back channel offers. And they stay. The know they're beloved by BBN and that some of these other places just won't give him this kind of time.

Stoops could be a legend at UK, he’ll just be another coach at some other university. When he came here he said he wanted to build the program to national prominence. I think he wants to do that. If Mitch keeps him happy, he’d be foolish to go somewhere else. To me he could be like Kirk Ferentz at Iowa, or Bill Snyder at Kstate….. dudes whose names are synonymous with their schools. The difference is the ceiling is higher at UK. And, honestly, the ceiling is a national championship. I’d say that for any SEC team. If Vandy went throigh a season unscathed, wouldn’t they be in the playoff equation? Sure they would. UK is no different. Can it be done? I don’t see why not. It’s a slow build for sure, but he’s building it. Why not Kentucky?
