drafted.

Jim Nagy:

It’s time

QB Stetson Bennett starts getting respect as legit pro prospect & not just underdog story or good college QB.
@StetsonIv
led 7 straight TD drives vs Oregon w/ plenty of next-level transferable skills. Checkout 27-yard strike w/ delayed LB in his face.??

Blind link to the tweet I copied above. Nagy is in charge of the Senior Bowl.

Lot of football left, but even a bench gig as an UDFA is pretty sweet in today’s NFL.

This class will be too deep with decent QBs to waste a pick on a guy like Bennett.

This. He is not worthy of a 7th round pick as I stated earlier and the pro scouts know it.

Not seeing it. Also, nobody wants to roll the dice to draft someone at 25 (or whatever he'll be by the time the draft comes around).

Stet will get drafted because he makes a team better.

Do we think he is going to all of a sudden suck in a senior bowl environment?
He is short, but can he run a 4.45?
Can he hit the deep out?
Can he hit over the top?
No, he is not a plus arm. But not every NFL QB is.

He will be drafted to push a QB room and that is what he will do. The side benefit will be scout team. The side benefit will be a player who ignores noise and leads by example.

If Ian Book could get drafted in the damn 4th (because Payton just wanted to screw us on the way out) Stetson, who is a much more fundamentally sound QB, can certainly get picked.

He’s Greg McElroy if McElroy had a significantly better YPA, TD to INT ratio, Passer Rating, QBR, and could scramble

but other than that they are the exact same

Last 3 games
#11 Oregon: 25/31, 376 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT

#1 Alabama: 17/26, 224 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT

#2 Michigan: 20/30 345 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INT

185.2 passer rating in those 3.

He's got more arm than McElroy and I think moves around a bit better.

The kid played nearly a flawless game Saturday. If he continues to play like that, there's no doubt that he'll be considered....very heady!

Stetson will be 25 in October.
He’s basically the equivalent of a little league kid playing farm team.

He’ll revert back to his mean in professional ball.

The Oregon game was the best I’ve seen him look. He was in complete control, made great reads, arm looked above average, used his athleticism perfectly.

Time for people to let go of the narrative they Stetson is some weak link for Georgia. He looks like he has the tools and confidence to carry them this year if needed. It probably won’t really be needed much but he looks like a top level QB now.
