Not sure that this has been posted, but it's definitely been awhile and it's the offseason.

British actor Stephen Fry went around America for, I believe, the BBC and did a series about all the states and regions. When he went to Alabama he went to the Iron Bowl, when he went to Kentucky he went to Woodford Reserve and sampled the whiskey.

The first clip is of him in Alabama - the stunned look on his face when looking around is priceless. The second clip is him at WR, in absolute bliss.

He's obviously not a European soccer van. Those people kill each other inside and outside of the stadiums, and their crowds are often much larger than that one was.

Jordan Hare is bigger than probably 90% of the stadiums in the top leagues of France, UK, Germany, and Spain

I'm sure you're right....I'm not a soccer fan, but from what I've seen, the crowds seem to be huge and rowdy! I can't believe that guy is so amazed....he's probably over dramatizing a little for the camera.

Umm he went to the iron bowl. Some people have been killed by a certain fanbase because of the game before...

People have been killed over a game of darts. I've never seen anything at an Ala/Aub game take place that occasionally takes place at some soccer games...and YOU haven't either....and I was going to Iron Bowl games before you were born.

You are, in fact, off by a bit. It is bigger then all but 2 soccer stadiums in Europe.

Arkansas might manage to sneak into the top 10 of largest stadiums in Europe. We do things a wee bit bigger over here.

6 SEC stadiums between 1-18.

(Kyle Field, Neyland, Tiger Stadium, BDS, The Swamp, JHS)

Impressive.

Have you ever attended a soccer game in another country?

Man, imagine if he had filmed that in the expanded BDS. 2010 was the year it was up to 101,821 capacity. The 2011 Iron Bowl would have appeared like a monster to him if he was impressed with the scale of Jordan-Hare.

Stadiums #2 - #9 are all collegiate football stadiums:

#2 Michigan Stadium
#3 Beaver Stadium
#4 Kyle Field
#5 Neyland Stadium
#6 Tiger Stadium

#7 Ohio Stadium
#8 Bryant–Denny Stadium
#9 Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium

The 4 SEC stadiums have less than 1000 seats between the biggest SEC stadium (Kyle - 102,733) and the 4th biggest (BDS - 101,821).

Weird that the biggest stadium in the world is in North Korea.

Hey Texas A&M - you're always bragging about your money. Get to it. Gotta knock NK off that top spot.

Only Camp Nau in Spain and Wembley Stadium in England are larger, as far as European stadiums.

Was gonna say, "too bad it's never been filled" but I would imagine attendance is mandatory.

Like, uber mandatory.

No, but I've watched a number of them on TV. Do they look different?

Even more impressive, 4.8 million people in the entire State of Alabama.

London alone has 8.1 million.

The State of Alabama has two of the largest stadiums in the world, with a relatively small population.

We do sports a little different in the USA!

Yeah and college football lends itself to large attendance because there are so few games, only 6 or 7 home games a year and the format is such that every one of those games is significant.
