Starting to think Bama, even with two losses, would be safe for the playoff as long as the

SECCG isn't more than a 14 point UGA win.
Bama wins, they are in obviously and maybe the number 1 seed.
The Oregon loss helped them tremendously.
Committee would take undefeated Cincy over them.
Would they take a one loss Notre Dame or a one loss Big 12 champ?
I'm not sure about that. The analytics will say Bama is a much better team than either.
Most likely teams and seeding in my opinion if Bama loses:
1) UGA
2)OSU
3) Bama
4) Cincy
Could see OSU being no. 1 if they blowout Michigan and Wisconsin.

Even the Gumps aren’t getting into the CFP with two losses and 1-possession wins over LSU and Arkansas at home.

I bet they let Cincy and a 1-loss Big 12 Champ in over 2-loss Bama. Notre Dame is really interesting. Does anyone really and truly believe that Notre Dame is better than Alabama?

Bama could use an Ole Miss win in the Egg Bowl to help its strength of schedule. Right now its best victory is a good home one over Ole Miss. Won't have much of a case if its signature win is a road win against 8-4 Mississippi State (who lost to LSU and Memphis).

I think the bigger question is whether a 1 loss UGA team fresh off a loss gets in over a 1 loss ND team on a 7 game win streak.

If OSU blows out Michigan and Wisconsin I'd put them at 1 depending on how close the SEC CG is. If UGA wins by 7 or less, Bama would be their only ranked win probably. OSU would have 3 lopsided ones in this scenario.
Bama's only hope of getting into the playoff if they don't with the SEC is to keep it within 7, and hope for chaos in the Big 10 and Big 12. Doubt Cinci loses so they'd likely be in

1 loss B12 Champ (if OU/OSU split or if OU loses the first and Baylor gets in and wins the CCG, the B12 is done)
Cinci if they win out
Alabama win:

Bama
Georgia
1 loss Big 12 team (see above) OR Cinci if they beat Houston
ND only gets in if Bama loses and B12 champ has 2 losses
Pac 12 is done

I know you are supposed to look at each season independently, but at some point these laughably predictable eggs OU and Notre Dame keep laying in the playoffs have to be factored in.
This is not one of Saban's best teams, but this is also a really down year for college football. Bama wouldn't deserve a bid if they lost a close one to UGA, but neither would anyone else besides UGA.
Imagine how pathetic the playoffs would be this year with a mid major who beat one decent team as well as the team they beat both being in the playoffs.

Notre Dame and Cincinnati would both have to lose for Bama to have any chance to get in with 2 losses.

2. So at Min they have to be 4.. you really want to see a game that was just played.. exact same scenario as 2018.. and they put UGA #5, which is what will happen.
