The man is a national treasure and I hate that I hated him when he was coaching in Gainesville.
At least now I can appreciate his wit.

He's not wrong.
Most of the worst coaches in this league walk away with (sometimes tens of) millions of dollars.

They both have a lot in common, they leave SC in midstream. And quitting isn't nearly as admirable or lucrative as walking away with 18 mil in your pocket. Advantage Muschamp.

Yeah considering he quit mid season he should just shut his mouth about another coach getting fired.

18 mil to leave? Member when the SEC Rant Brain Trust mocked my Ags for paying Jimbo 7.5 mil a season? Joke's on Jimbo. He still has to work.
And again, I'd really like to congratulate the Hogs on the great deal they got on a discount coach.

Felt the same way but he was a different coach back in Florida. Almost unlikeable. The NFL humbled him and hes been better for it.

SC deserves the hit for hiring him in the first place.

Rather than run it into the ground and get fired and take a bunch of money with him? Quitting and leaving all the money on the table is probably better for the school. It takes a lot of effort to win in a Power 5 conference and once you are out of gas, might as well hang it up rather than steal money.

He ain't wrong and by several country miles.....Muschamp is entering what could be the best gig in the history of mankind...fired HC from a power 5 football program. I would buy me a place on the intercoastal somewhere around Stuart and catch a sailfish a day every day (on average, obviously not every day) and the undertaker couldn't wipe the grin off my face!

It wasn't the hiring that was unforgivable, it was the contact extension.

This man speaks the truth.
How much of the buyout should come from Tanner's salary?

Indeed. By all accounts Muschamp wasn't even close to being the first choice. In fact, we were pursuing Kirby before UGA swooped in and got him.
Hell after Muschamp's 9-4 year I don't even mind giving Muschamp at least some extension - but that massive buyout was inexcusable.

18 mil to leave?

A&M hold onto coaches for quite awhile so if we do end up firing Fisher, it will be with 20M or so on his contract. And he's not remotely on the hot seat with those that matter.
I'm interested to see who SC thinks they can get

Why are we in your head, aggie?
We got LSU this week: a fun good-natured rivalry with a school with an actually good fanbase. We don't even remember you exist right now.

It is hard to win at South Carolina.
Georgia has been playing them annually, long before they came into the conference. Some coaches have had some success there, for a while, before it comes crashing down. Not enough in-state talent and Clemson plays in a less tougher conference.

Yet Spurrier was the main guy pushing for Tanner to hire Muschamp.
