bama and A&M lost more starters than LSU.....and we played more freshmen and sophomores than anyone in the country

FWIW... not a great track record
Last year they had...
1. LSU
2. USCw
3. Bama
4. OU
5. VT
6. Kansas St.
7. FSU
8. Michigan
9. USCe
10. Texas
well, 3 out of 10 is pretty good, right? Only Bama, FSU, and USCe finished in the top 10.

Yea, don't address the point we were talking about. No one said anything about LSUs ranking.
Deflect deflect deflect
ETA : how can you have LSU #1? Did you see how much they lost OMG

They should call them preseason projections. No one thinks USCe is the 3rd best team, but because of schedule, they have a great shot to be in the SEC championship game and thus ranked 3rd.
I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you because sometimes I'm fairly sure that is an actually picture of you that you are using for your avatar ... but, yes, there are those that believe SCAR has a chance to finish 3rd, or better, this year. There are plenty of people to be found and definitely not just SCAR fans.
Secondly, with regard to your schedule remark, I'm not sure what you mean exactly "with their schedule" but SCAR's schedule is more difficult than 8 outta 13 other SEC programs this year, based upon last year's results.
Thirdly, if SCAR ends-up in Atlanta, then who are all the other teams that you would rank ahead of them, if they are not worthy of 3rd? I realize it is subjective, but I'd seriously like to read who you honestly believe should be ranked-ahead of SCAR if we end-up in Atlanta and are, say, undefeated when we get there?

Why is okie state 6. Are they gonna be that good or is that just an edgy pick

USC and UF at 3/4 is interesting. Not saying they aren't good but that's the highest I think i've seen either ranked.
I like OSU at 5; if they win out they are in likely
SN is a meaningless poll as is Lindy's, Athlons, etc., but it's fun to debate these things.
Also, I think Michigan beats OSU this year with what they have returning and the way Hoke has bolstered that defense with a solid blend of blue chippers and blue collar players.

scrooster,
Are you using the article posted here recently for those schedule rankings? We discussed the problems with that publication using overall records to determine schedule difficulty (for example an 8-4 FCS team would be considered more difficult than a 7-5 FBS team). Also, that was taking into account the non-conference games that have no bearing on getting to Atlanta.
We also never got to finish up the discussion of how you felt the SEC was giving UGA an unfair advantage even before the bridge schedules. I'm extremely curious to know your theory on that, so I'll pose the question again:
Do you believe the SEC has been cheating South Carolina back when the SEC schedule was 100% determined by rotation?
And if so, how do you believe that rotation was skewed against South Carolina? I'm honestly intrigued by this whole mindset.

Not trying to speak for anyone else here, but it's my opinion that if SCAR is undefeated going into Atlanta there is no way they should be ranked any worse than 2nd in the country.

quote:Which is why I said it should be called a projection and not a ranking. No one would rank them third if they were listing the best teams and not being influenced by likely results due to schedule (not just south carolina's, but other teams such as LSU, UGA, aTm, etc.).
but, yes, there are those that believe SCAR has a chance to finish 3rd, or better, this year.
quote:Fisrt, I didn't say w"with their schedule." I was referring not only to South Carolina's schedule but also many others. As for USC's, it simply is more favorable for them to represent the east than it was last year. UGA's schedule is more difficult and USCe doesn't play Alabama, LSU or aTm from the west.
Secondly, with regard to your schedule remark, I'm not sure what you mean exactly "with their schedule"

Because the SECR needs to be aggressively reminded of this fact every time it comes up. So......

Neither LSU or UGA belong in the top 15 never mind top 10.

I disagree. I think both teams deserve to be in the top 15. UF, LSU, and UGA are all pretty similar teams.
