1Part 1 is being replayed on TV now. Very good. It starts with Rupp at UK. Learned today that in the 40's some of the UK's best players were involved in point shaving for money. Put UK on probation and those players were never allowed to play in the NBA.
I imagine this was on earlier as I am watching a replay. Great stuff.

There were a lot of schools caught up in this. There was an ESPN doc about CCNY basketball, and this scandal is what killed their program.

on 1/31/23 at 9:20 am to GetCocky11yes I think about 70 schools but UK was the king at the time. UK was featured on this show more so then the others due to it being a show on the rise of BB in the south. Dealt with integration etc.
In the 40's I would think most SEC schools had gym teachers coaching basketball. Florida hired it's first full time basketball coach in 1960. Mr. Norm Sloan. He coached at UF from 1960-1966 and again from 1980-1988. He took us to our first NCAA tournament, waaaaaay back in 1987.
