I myself was surprised that USCe wasnt better in football the past several years. It didnt helped the look of a SEC conference. Either did our selfish "quitting" the Cotton Bowl which I look at as a realist.

The SEC, despite Bama's success, is viewed nationally as a weaker conference than years past. The fix ? I dunno...but we have to obtain a more balanced look imo. UGA, UF, A&M, AU and maybe Ark, or Ole Miss needs to have more impact? I think with UT currently spinning the drain pipe that Mizzou and UK could elevate themselves ?

Well we've beaten Penn State, Virginia Tech and NC State (all ranked) in three straight bowl games. I am not so sure about this "down" thing. Couple that with Ole Miss and Mississippi State beating ranked teams and that we beat up each other during the year it may be a perception that is wrong.

Florida didn't show up ready to play and had opt outs of their best players.

The Cats will be ready to scrap again next season. We don't have the talent of some of you but we will hit hard and hopefully have a pro style offense next year.

Hilinski has a very strong arm and a quick release. He would have been perfect for Mississippi State. The one big issue is not sure his heart is into football like it used to be.
