Also 2nd in sec titles.

This isn't a surprise to anyone that has followed sec football for a reasonable length of time.

since you have copped an attitude about it I am compelled to note that other SEC teams have won 16 national football titles since UGA won it in....wait for it... 1980. Oh, and Georgia Tech too.

I went to Stassen and it shows Tennessee ahead both in terms of winning percentage and games won.

That is correct. Tennessee is #2. But Georgia is closing the gap. They are only 1.980 points behind.

That is an arbitrary ranking. No fan from LSU/AU/UF/UT would trade positions with UGA football. Who gives a shite about eastern division titles.

apologies... I skated by that qualifier.

Tennessee would still be ahead in terms of winning percentage since 1932. Somehow UGA has played 21 more games than Tennessee. Either more bowls (unlikely) or from the days of unbalanced schedules (more likely).

Honestly, I don't GAF who Tennessee played in the 20s or 30s.
I'm much more interested in the post integration era but to each their own.

I am not sure there is any program in the US that has fallen as far as UT has the last 20 years.

Karma is real.

edit to add that I generally always go by 1970 forward because all SEC teams were integrated by then. It's a better measure. I did check that too, and 5 SEC teams are ahead of UT

UA
UGA
UF
AU
LSU
UT

Yet they still have a more recent title than UGA.

At least Auburn has something to show since the dawn of this century

Auburn and uga have the same number of national titles and uga leads in every other conceivable metric in which to compare programs besides heisman winners (3 to 2 for au). An au fan that wouldn't trade histories with uga is historically dumb.

I know we give UGA a lot of shite but there's a lot of reasons their fans should be happy with the state of their program. Kirby has them in contention most every year.

Auburn just fired their coach and LSU probably isn't too far behind.

I will grant you that no Florida fan would want to trade places.

1970 is also the year I prefer. Nice clean round number.

Yes they do. We've also won 3 sec titles since their last.

Not winning a national title since 1980 isn't as embarrassing as not winning the league you play in going on 23+ years
