have 3 consecutive negative covid tests, but is it mandatory for the tests spaced out 24 hours each, or can the tests be done in tighter time frame? I'm assuming he won't make the game because of above, and also I've read conflicting reports that regardless of negative tests going forward, once a confirmed positive test, the coach or player must be quarantined minimum 10 days, so at least Saban stands a good chance to be on field vs UT which would be day 10 for him.

Be no point in having three tests in a day....

Been my assumption that he tested positive on Wednesday, he would need negative tests Thursday, Friday and Saturday to be eligible to coach

Who knows
It would be one thing if the game was in Athens but the game is in Tuscaloosa, they can't put him in his own private box and let him coach that way, isolate himself that way.
Stupid rules if that's the case.
What will happen in playoffs if this happens?

Your God has been quarantined. Deal with it.

Simple. All he has to do is call the League office & tell them he will do as he wants.Like he always does.

Not necessarily because of the possibility of false positives....but apparently that has been ruled out.

Not being a smart arse but has it been ruled out? I thought the only way he is working to get cleared is if he tested negative yesterday and today and hoping for tomorrow ?

I believe the last 2 tests can be within 24 hours. So he likely takes a test today at 2 or 3:00. He could take the other two 24 hours later and be cleared if negative.

He tested positive around 1 pm Wednesday. So theoretically, he could be cleared if he tested negative on Thursday, Friday, and again at 1pm Saturday.
Don't count on that, though.

What about false negatives? And now just screw quarantine right?

Reckon that's why there has to be 3 negative tests in a row?

Not at all, these are legit questions. If he does test negative then he would be cleared as I understand it. I have been in another thread arguing that NBC (Or somebody) reported that the test was confirmed to not be a false positive, but because of some of the wording in the article it is a little murky.
One point a Bama fan (Tuscaloosa) made was that that is the only news source that has even insinuated that the test was confirmed....and it is a legit point for him to make. It would make sense that if the test had been confirmed that it would be all over the news, so.....here we are, twisting in the wind knowing little or nothing.
