I could have sworn that I saw him mentioned with steroids awhile back, so that's good to hear. He was always one of my favorite players.

Those bats were lethal and yes there was a handful of that going on in college baseball but not as widespread as what was going on in MLB
The bats had more to do with the 5'8 2b putting up double digit home run totals.

This guy hit 16 HR, 50 RBI in 1997. Bats were juiced.

Absolutely right. Any time I see a thread started with this theme, I know 100% that a MS State fan started it because the grapes are still sour.

Well that never happened, so I'm not sure what you're thinking of.
Most good baseball players from High School up were chemically enhanced in the 90's and early 2000's. LSU's numbers from back then, as compared to now, are a result of the bats that were used. And credit Skip for recognizing that, instead of being a hard-head like Polk and playing the old, traditional "that's baseball" crap.

Anybody who thinks Clark and Palmeiro were juicing in Starkville never hit with those old black and gold Easton bats
Those things were rocket launchers

Yes because the bats they used back then had nothing to do with it.....
Strange, I thought y'all's colors were maroon and white, not green........

Junior used for a rehab stint over a very short period of time.. akin to sipping a Coors Light one weekend vs habitual heroin usage.
Junior wouldn't even use advanced scouting reports or feedback from guys who just had an AB vs a pitcher they'd never seen before.
Clark, Junior and Maddux are the guys in that era that stand out as stars vs the juicers, but the list dwindles rapidly from there. 85-90% of the MLB were on it and the numbers in the minors weren't far behind. Collegiate programs varied and relative to this thread, usage was closely tied to where theY played.
Having said that, LSU and Gorilla Ball was primarily tied to hot bats and Bertram's recognition to recruit the bombers and promote that style of mindset at the plate.

I mean every baseball team in America at every level was juicing in the 90s so I'd say the playing field was fair.
