re: So UGA fans, tell me about Glenn Schumann. Might be our next DC.

I think Nielsen would have been good. Especially for our D line. Could u imagine how good they would be if we got him?
But on the other hand it might be a blessing in disguise to get Schumann. LB is prob our weakest area. And UGAs LBs have been beasts over the years. LSU needs to get back to strong LB cores like Devin White, Kwon, Riley, Queen, Etc.

Do tell? I wonder who “reported” this...is it the same people in other three iterations?
I wonder who “contacted” him.. ponamsky?
I wonder if a courtesy call was given Kirby? I wonder how long he will string LSU out before accepting a pay raise from Kirby?
I wonder why LSUers run to this board breathless with excitement about every little twist in their pedestrian saga?
Holy shite take a break or something

An Alabama legacy and alum. Get some more experience before heading home to Alabama.

He’s a 3-star RB on 247. 2-star WR on Rivals

It’s funny because the question was asked to UGA fans. And yet one of the first responses is from a Bammer. Can’t say I’m surprised.
If Kevin Mawae was rumored to be the next OL coach at Alabama, what do you think the response from LSU fans would be?

Will he be interested? I mean there is the distinct possibility it is a one year deal. Orgeron is fired if things don't improve next year

Diddler, why does Georgia have co defensive coordinators and pay Lanning $1.2 mil per year when I assume Kirby runs most of the defense?

Does being a Student assistant and a Graduate Assistant make you a "Saban guy"? Seems like a bit of a stretch to me, but if it qualifies....okay?

Why would you assume that?

You sure it ain’t Kirby?

Well? Wait....does Orgeron run the OLine, or does he let the OLine coach and/or the OC deal with it?
It's one thing for a HC to dabble in an area, it's quite another for them to run another area and do their HC job.
I will say that he does take an active hand in the DBs, but have not heard he is all that hands on with the defense. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. But I would take it for granted that he does.

That hasn’t worked out for us so far. Maybe the 47th time is a charm.
Is it Tennessee bad yet?

He worked for 7 years under Saban. Director of football operations on top of others you mentioned. Alabama legacy, alum, etc.

I did not know this. It makes more sense now. Honestly? I looked at his wiki page and stopped reading right before it mentioned this part. My bad.
That said, being an Alabama legacy and/or alum does not necessarily make him a "Saban guy". The other does, however, I would think.

Schu is a damn good coach.
Worked his way up from the bottom. Success all along the way.
He has the best defensive mind on the staff (along with kirby).
Is he ready? Who knows. He will be a great DC one day. The question is when and where. You definitely could do worse.

some seem to think that is a myth that Kirby runs the defense. Lanning is a hell of a recruiter though so that makes him worth every penny.
Refer to his all time recruits
