So, the Moo Moo's knew they wouldn't be able to get into the SEC by themselves, so...

they went to their big brother, Oklahoma, to see if they'd go along with them and, together, approach the SEC for membership.
If OU applied for SEC membership on their own, they WOULD have been accepted.
But, Texas was afraid they wouldn't have been accepted by themselves (and they were right, they wouldn't have been) and went skipping over to Big Bro Oklahoma to get enough nerve to approach Big Daddy SEC.
Hmmm. Texas...if you're scared, say you're scared.

The SEC wouldn't consider Texas without Oklahoma. I think we all know that.

OU can not live without the State of Texas. If UT had left the Big 12 and brought another TX team with them, OU would not have been able to survive. Have both A&M and UT in another league would have choked out their recruiting in TX. These are not the good ole Big 8 days.

I have to say it is brilliant. Trying to ride into the SEC on OU's coattails and accomplishments. Texas is the ultimate dickrider.
