the days of smoothbrained mouthbreathers on here using "1980!" as their go-to insult seems like such a distant memory now.

True. What is there to discuss? Much fewer than Bama and obviously picked a timeline that would include UGA.

Well I also could’ve started in the 2020s and excluded both LSU and Florida

2010s and Florida would still be excluded and LSU would only have the 1.

Starting in 2010 would exclude Florida

There's still that one UTK poster who will comment "1980" like he's doing something
He's so mentally broken and uncreative all he can do now is list UGA championship years.

What's the point? You stated a Fact, and did not provide commentary or prompt. I would like to put in a comment.
Since 1980, 6 SEC schools, ~40% of the Conference, have at least 1 CFB championship with 4 having 3 or more. If ranking Conferences in order by CFB Champs since 1980:
SEC has 6 CFB Champs (Al-7,LSU-3,GA-3,FL-3,Aub-1,Ten-1)
ACC has 3 CFB champs (Clem-3, FL-St-3, Mi- 4)
B-10 has 4 CFB champs (OH st-2, Pen-2, N-2, Mich-1)
Pac-12 has 3 CFB champs (Was 1,UC-B-1, USC-1)
Big-12 has 2 CFB champs (OK-2, TX-1)
Please Discuss conference Strength, Influence, and Importance in CF history since 1980. I think it's clear that the SEC is the primary conference. And this doesn't take into account that Big-12's Champs will leave and join the SEC. I'm youngish, so I didn't realize how dominant the ACC was during Mi's high point and that FL st and Clem both had 3 Championships. Oh and I also deleted the "dual champs" cause those don't count for team #2 - looking at you USC.

B-10 has 4 CFB champs
Big-12 has 2 CFB champs
You need to include the three NCs Nebraska won somewhere. And the only Colorado NC win in 1990, shared with Georgia Tech.
1997 National Champions - 1998 Orange Bowl - #2 Nebraska 42, #3 Tennessee 17
1995 National Champions - 1996 Fiesta Bowl - #1 Nebraska 62, #2 Florida 24
1994 National Champions - 1995 Orange Bowl - #1 Nebraska 24, #3 Miami 17
