Last year during this time frame, most of the sRant believed he was going to be a 1st Rounder if he came out this year. I know alot is blamed on Gus's system but Stidham seemed to flourish in it last year.

It feels like he regressed, I don't see the same pocket presence or accuracy on deep balls. Seems like is very skittish also and not as athletic as I thought he was. He made couple of big runs last year against Alabama and Georgia that I was like damn. Does he come back next year?

No running game = too much pressure on the passing game.

No running game, no OL, Gus calling plays = bad time for Stidham.

Last season against Clemson KJ didn't play, against LSU KJ was 70%, against uga part II KJ was 40% and against UCF Stidham turned the ballover 3 times for a -21 points off turnover margin in a 8 point loss.

KJ averaged 5 ypc behind a very average OL. He literally turned 2 yard gains and 1 yards loses into 6 yard gains, etc...

This allowed the OL to somewhat pass protect when KJ was in the game. Our fans screamed and clamored for other backs to play, but the data showed why KJ played so much. He was the single key to the O. (This is a post about Stidham, not about a Gus recruiting himself into that corner)

Stidham with time and opposing DC's worrying about KJ has enough arm talent to hurt you. Stidham as the focus of the O doesn't have the mentality to make plays when no play is there to be made.

Hence, Stidham 2017 vs Stidham 2018.

Side note: Against LSU with KJ at 70% Stidham was given the opportunity to run 17 2nd half RPO's and he gave the ball to KJ 17 times even when it was the wrong read 11 times. IMO on the road in a big game Stidham wasn't trying to win, he was trying not to lose. Another reflection of why he has physical talent, but isn't built to play this game.

You have to admit he's got that fake pass after a handoff down pat.

Biggest difference I see is 2017 Stidham stepping into throws and delivering the ball. 2018 Stidham falling back and throwing off his back foot more often than not and lucky to get it in the same zip code as the receiver.

It's like you don't understand football and can't see all the extra blockers they have and less people going out for passes this year.

He might not go to the NFL, but he won’t be at Auburn. He’d grad transfer before coming back to this shitshow of a coaching staff.

Your comments are truthful.

I don’t think he comes back.

He’s getting married and his future is in management with his father in law

1) Gus Malzahn
2) No running game (worst in Gus entire time at Auburn)
3) Limited route tree
4) Worst Auburn OL since 2012/2008
5) Easy play recognition based on alignment and personnel
6) Play call tendencies
7) Almost a brand new offense

To go into detail on #7, let’s think about this. Auburn lost basically their entire OL from 2017, Kerryon Johnson, Kam Pettway, Eli Stove, Will Hastings, Nate Craig Myers and Jalen Harris.

He's a shell of the QB he was thanks to Gus. Doesn't even look like the same guy as last year

Hearing or reading because that’s been widely known

He'll graduate transfer to Oklahoma. Play lights out under Lincoln Riley, earn back the hype, and ride off into the sunset (NFL) after a Big 12 championship.
