Saving face. Look at the recount of events, your AD fielded a call at Media Day and found out right when we all did. Then see the first statement by your president. A&M was treated like a second half citizen. It was funny because Aggies thought they were big players.... but it was wrong.

Could be wrong but individual sports can be contracted to be in different conferences - IE Notre Dame is independent in football but in the ACC in basketball
