One of the best in-game coaches I've ever seen. You could always see him make adjustments, and do things that generally made sense. Just seemed like a guy that consistently got everything he could out of the talent that was there.

I can at least somewhat understand the A & M and Jimbo contract although it was excessive. Because at least Jimbo had won a national championship and was a proven recruiter. But Tucker hasn't done anything except beat an average Michigan team. That sure is rolling the dice.

Wow I didn't know that. If I was Penn State I would have told Franklin he owed us a refund after these last 2 years. College administrators are such wussies.

Meh, they overpaid, but by how much? Mel is a solid recruiter that can get the players to MSU, whereas others might not. Mel also has a good mind for the game and has experience under Saban and helped Kirby establish UGA as a true player.
He's "been there". He knows what it takes.
I think they have the right guy with the right attitude, and overpaid for the right reasons, to build stability, continuity, and culture.
He can consistently win 9-10 games in the B1G with talent alone, and that's plenty at that school.

Dude isn’t worth 3.5 a year at a P5 school. He has nothing as far as a track record to merit even that honestly. Paying him Saban money is stupid.

I concur....that may or may not bite them in the end but this guy is not worth it today....The OSU game should have told them he is not worth it....until he's worth it !!!!!
