Would you rather be an Elite 8 team that finished 2nd in the SEC or be a sweet sixteen team that won the SEC?? Only Bama fans will think winning the conference is something special but this ain't football newbies.

I'd take the former than the latter to be perfectly honest but we got the latter and I'm cool with it. Best of luck to the Hogs to finish it!

March madness is a goofy bastard.

Alabama tore arse all year and went out of the tournament too early. Oregon St was 14-12 going into the postseason and is now in the elite 8.

But who really can say Oregon st had a more successful season?

I'd only rather have the NCAA elite 8 over the conference hardware if we ended up winning it all.

I think this is a slightly tougher choice in a normal year

With COVID and a down year for the conference, definitely take Elite 8

Elite eight probably.

Winning the sec tourney and making the sweet sixteen is pretty nice consalation though

Elite 8...not so much, but your point is taken. If ya'll make the Final Four every basketball fan takes that over regular season or tourney titles.

I know where you’re coming from, but you get my point. It’s funny how this yearly tradition totally steals the season’s joy from 90% of the teams, while redeeming it for teams who were mediocre most of the year.

Titles are what matters. NCAA title, conference title, then conference tournament title in that order. Bama got 2 of the 3 this year but not the big one. Arkansas missed out on the first 2 and we will see if they can get the last one or if they come up empty there as well. I’d like to see either Gonzaga or Arkansas win it.

This is dumb. Every basketball fan would take a Final Four over a regular season or tourney title. Basketball is built around one weekend in April .

The conference season and tourney titles are a nice accent on the sweet 16 tournament year. It was a great season and will be remembered as such. Getting to the second weekend is really all that can be expected of great teams.

From a national perspective success is measured by what you do in the NCAA though.

Maybe a final four because you can say you were regional champ (and were second or third runner up I guess). But probably not Elite 8 - that’s just a regional runner up that people don’t remember that much. Give me the conference titles over that if you can only choose one.

If Arkansas loses then I would take Bama's season.

Bama
Reg season title, SEC tourney title and Sweet 16

Arkansas
Elite 8

Now if Arkansas makes it to a Final 4 then I would say Arkansas probably. SEC championships don't grow on trees though.
