I ask just out of curiosity. I know hockey isn’t really a southern thing and most of us posting on here are from the south.

If you are not watching any of the NHL playoffs I highly recommend you do so. The games have been great. There has been a lot of physical play which has led to some pretty good fights lol. The games are in the conference finals stage now and every game but one so far has went into overtime. Anyone who likes sports and competition would appreciate these playoff games going on right now. Like I said I know hockey isn’t really a southern thing but do yourself a favor and tune into a game. If you are not watching you are missing out on some really good stuff.

Well, three of the four teams left are from the South (North Carolina, Florida, and Texas.) For all its flaws Alabama has some decent hockey. The Birmingham Bulls had a great season, Huntsville has a strong hockey following with the Havoc and UAH (RIP), and Alabama and Auburn’s club teams are decent. The state’s not on a level with hotbeds like Nashville, Dallas, Atlanta, & Tampa, but it’s decent.

Hockey is right up there with soccer and the WNBA in the watchability categories. I’d rather watch a good cricket match or Kabaddi.

Watched and enjoyed the first two rounds, same as the NBA playoffs. Couldn't be less enthused by the remaining teams and, also similarly to the NBA playoffs, the strong prospect of both series being sweeps just really neuters any enthusiasm on my part.

Went to some games. I enjoyed it. Never paid much attention to hockey but it's fun to go to

All 5 games in the conference finals have been decided by 1 goal and 4 of 5 have gone to OT. These contests are by no means one sided like the NBA has been.

Used to attend Thrashers' games, a lot of fun. And I'd like to add that it's played by some mean, bad arse dudes

I respect the sport and the athletes that participate in it, but tbh I don’t even know most of the rules. Same goes for soccer.

I love watching. Growing up I loved watching the NBA Playoffs. Around 2014 my interest starting dwindling in the NBA Playoffs and decided to watch the NHL Playoffs. Now I don't watch NBA at all and watch NHL every year.

Great point, so maybe intrigue is salvaged if the Stars win tonight. If not, I'll probably just look at the scores in the morning until the finals start.

You mean the sport where players have literally had their throats slit open on the ice is "gay arse"?

I watched my first hockey game in years when the Stars played the Kraken in the last series and have watched every game since. I have really got into the game and have been enjoying it.

The NHL playoffs are the best of any North American sport, and it's not particularly close. It has the best traditions, quirks, and the best trophy.

The Panthers are a machine right now.

I watched the first one live. Thank God there was a doctor in the house.
