Providing it got outside the bubble, don't kid yourself the nation media would go insane if it was Saban and he would be unable to survive.

In fact I think Petrino's chances of staying are better than Saban's would be because the nation does not know or care where Arkansas is on a map

And that's why they're SEC old-school blueblood big boys..not twenty-year SWC interlopers.

Since you stipulated 'exact' then yes, and in my opinion, it would go well past 'considered', they would be gone.

Yes the word exactly looms large in this equation

I don't think many are grasping the ramifications of possible misappropriation of state funds/'unequal relationship' (think Gloria Allred) in this situation.

Nick Saban could crash a meeting with the board of trustees, demand 10 million a year, 36 hookers, and 11 assassinations, and it would be considered a reasonable demand... So, wrecking a motorcycle with a volleyball bitch on the back would be petty.

Like HBT said, there would be a coverup and Miles or Saban would remain the coach.

Yes, the fact that all three are public Universities comes into play

I definitely agree with this. However, I believe he was trying to say that NO COACH is bigger than Alabama. The example used was laughable I agree. Saban is definitely a GREAT coach but he is not to the point yet to where he's untouchable.

Exact, as in it hits the media?

Both probably forced out. Saban, because of his success and reputation, and all the enemies he's made- it would be a non-stop media circus until he's jobless. He would be toast. Hell, he'd still be a regular topic after he loses his job, as people would pile on.

Miles might have a very slim chance to survive, because he's so darn goofy in his public persona. He might just be able to spin it into something sort of innocent. But that's probably still less than 1%.

I think this nails it.

Saban would be roasted.

Toomers trees would be rolled for weeks.

Miles has no enemies. He might survive.

This is the most realistic answer by far...neither one of them would keep their job.

Kill the girl, the fiancee, the statey, and any drivers within 20 miles of the accident. Leave no witnesses. Just like the government guys did the family of the autistic kid in Mercury Rising. Then you kill the guys that did the killing. It's a process.

LSU would hold out until the last minute but would fire Miles. Bama would turn it into a story about the girl jumping out of a passing car's window, on to Saban's back and causing him to wreck.

If last August? I'd say LSU wins the NC because Lee never gets taken out of the game, with an interim coach.

If It happened to Saban. I'd say LSU wins the NC because Saban would not be in the picture.

Lee couldn't have done any worse than JJ, but I doubt he'd do much better.

As for the OP, I think they would both either be fired or they would "step down" for them and the universities to avoid as much humiliation as possible.

Honestly, LSU fans would be marching in the streets with pitchforks and torches wanting miles fired.

Lsu fans aren't a cult for their coach like bama auburn, and arky fans are for theirs.

Yes. If my pig butt were cooked, would it smell like pork?

I for one think they would find a way to keep them.

That's a tough one, though I do believe Saban would stand a better chance of weathering the storm.
