Pruitt won natty @ two stops proving it wasn't just Bama that made him. And won 1 for 2 years @ UA which again is .500. Smart was 4 for 9 but all with the benefit of coaching @ UA. Just slightly less than JP on the percentage.

Georgia went 10-3 in '15, Richt's last year and dropped to 8-5 under Smart the first year. UT was 4-8 the year before Pruitt arrived and now stands at 2-2 or .500.

Now all that said Georgia is going to do better than UT over the years. Period. Kirby is a helluva coach sitting on the richest vein of talent in America with the least amount of competition. And he'll get after that arse recruiting with little thought of the details. Saban himself has said UGA is the best job in America. Tennessee is about number 7....in the SEC. With 4 schools in the west better and 2 in the east.

Moreover beware of a instant improvement in record after a coaching change from a screwed up situation to a radically different one. That means the new guy has went in and done little to change the screwed up affair. Accepted what was there to a large degree and rolled with it. Saban did no better and maybe worse than Shula and of course Smart had the Bulldog brain surgeons howling at the moon and crying "I told you so" while crying over their lost love...Mark Richt.

Smart is better salesman but Pruitt is more predictable. A horse's arse during good times and bad. Rougher than a corncob on a raw arse and far less political than Donald Trump. Likes women and will take a drink of whiskey. Sorta like Bryant and with a personality similar to him, The General and Nick Saban. You have to develop a taste for him about like your first beer. If he wins that's charming, if not he's just a prick. Don't expect either one to cut the other much slack recruiting or in a game. One other thing, JP's players love him.

Kirby was only a DC at bama so he didn't have more than 1 opportunity

it wasn't just Bama that made him

we can all agree (especially you as a bama fan) that saban is the best ever right? Best coach, best mind, best organizer, pretty much the best coach any of us have ever seen? So why is it that kirby would have far, FAR more staying power than any other assistnat saban has ever had? Saban asked him to come to LSU, saban asked him to join him at the dolphins, saban asked him to come back to alabama, then had him as DC for 8 years. Bama didn't make him but saban did.

this logic is so stupid it doesn't even justify this shitty response I'm giving it

I don’t know, I feel like proot will always be the “lesser than” in a conversation unless you can find someone else who doesn’t know what asparagus is.

I think Pruitt might achieve more than people expect. If he can get some great x and o's OC/DC He'll make a hell of a player's coach .

I always felt Pruitt is a better DC and defensive mind than Kirby but that means nothing in terms of who will end up being the better head coach. It is worrying how poorly Pruitt acted during the only time he had to deal with adversity in his college coaching career (Georgia). How will the guy react when his team goes through a stretch when they really struggle? Will they get better or will they implode?

I’m not gonna lie man when things are going bad I just remind myself I’m not a Tennessee fan. That program is the definition of a dumpster fire.

Jim, you made a Pruitt post yesterday. Try to stick to one. We have no use for your terrible threads as it is. One is enough.

Too stupid and emotional to be a successful HC.

This will become obvious to all in due time.

I think Pruitt is probably the worst head coach in the SEC.

I don't think much of Chad Morris but he made SMU respectable so that's something. Pruitt just doesn't strike me as a good coach.

Average time Pruitt spent developing a defense at each of his NC programs = less than a season.

Pruitt is the definition of a leech hitching his star to better coaches.

I don't necessarily agree Saban is the best ever coach since EVER is awhile. The damn General was pretty sporty. And would do whatever it took. An old Vol, about 70 then and that was years and years ago, who played for him and I socialized in Atlanta in all the just opened bars. Tommy was not welcome back in any place he had previously patronized. He played for Neyland. Told me the coach recruiting him said he was the best RB in America and would make AA 3 years n their offense and was the only rb they were after. So of course he signed. First day of practice they called out names and position groups to go here and there. 23 running backs were called out. And Tommy was one of about 25 guards. He raced over to his recruiting coach and set in on him about the mistakes. The assistant told him I have no damn idea who you are but if you say one more word to me other than yes sir over the next 12 months I will beat your little arse and put you on a bus to Korea (Korean war and the draft). LOL!

The older players whipped their butts every day. He said they had guards at every door of the ape dorm to keep them from escaping at night. So he went out a window and hitchhiked back to his Dad's farm N of Atlanta and woke him up. His dad told him "let's go check on the cows" and they took off. He quickly fell asleep and woke up in front of the dorm just before 7. Hid dad told him you get your arse in there before they miss you and then you knock hell out of the biggest guy on the team and then follow him where ever he goes. He stayed 4 years under The General and made All SEC....@ guard. My story on General Neyland. And PWB was alright too.

I gotta know jimdog, is Pruitt your old schoolboy crush or something? Is it the shiny penis head that gets you worked up into such a lather everyday that you have to write up these glorious posts exuding the virtues of this soon-to-be great coach?

ETA: Here is something for your spank bank.
